Amare's help defense sucks, and I love the guys game. OK4's man to man defense sucks, but his help is excellent. He's also a much better defensive rebounder. It really is a good fit. Amare guards the better scorer and OK4 can roam sag off his man for help.

Tony Douglas was the fasted player in the draft 2 years ago. The guy who measured almost as quick? Collison. It gives you healthy competition at the PG spot and Douglas can play some 2 when they go small or 3 guards.

ESPECIALLY if Walker is in the shape they say you could move him into the starting 2.

You would look like this:
PG Douglas/Collison
SG Walker
SF Gallo
PG Amare
C OK4

Best part? You have $17mm to offer a FA like DWade or Lebron if they are still farting around. You could make a trade for a guy and take back some salary also

You dont need to do this till you figure out what Lebron is doing. If you get Lebron it becomes clear you dont really need Melo. In which case it makes sense since at that point you'll have a finished starting 5 and close to finished 8 man rotation.

I think you have to make this move whether you get LeBron or not. I've been hoping for it to happen. Amare + OK$ = golden frontcourt.

it doesnt change your cap. You do this you can still add Lebron

NO has to bite.... might be tough as they dont get immediate cap relief

I actually think Melo and Lebron would be sick together but I agree you do t necessarily need Melo - the $ would be better spent on a strong supporting cast and bench. I still would love to see Melo in a NYK uniform.

My point is I wouldn't do this till I knew we were getting Lebron because Id want that cap space next year...Though I suppose we could carry some over

I agree with V in terms of the timing of the transaction. If LBJ doesn't come then I don't really want to do this deal... if he comes then it makes complete sense

I do this only if we have LeBron, Wade or Carmelo. Doing this early doesn't make sense, because Curry's contract will still be very valuable in raising the talent level of this team. This is simply one option.

I think Emeka and Collison would be a great get for Curry.

But I get the impression that if Lebron doesn't come the Knicks are going after Monta Ellis or Ray Felton while trying to save cap room for Melo next summer.
