George Hill looked great for the Spurs. McDyess is old and Lee would look great playing next to Duncan in a Popovich offense that features a lot of ball movement. Lee makes them younger and more skilled and upgrades their frontcourt.

We get Tony Parker. 28 year old PG who lives in the paint, shoots 50% and can get Amare a whole lot of easy looks.

Also leaves us with $4-$5mm in cap space to fill out the bench.

I think Earl Barron played his way into a 2 year $3mm deal. Shaun Livinston could also fit into that budget as well.

PG Parker
SG Chandler
SF Gallo
PF Amare
C Baron
bench: Douglas, Walker, Livinston, picks,

Thoughts?

Take it from David Aldridge not me-

Stoudemire said over the weekend that he thought he could lure both Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony and Spurs guard Tony Parker to New York, though both are currently under contract to their respective teams for another year. But a Spurs source said on Sunday that San Antonio has no interest in trading Parker to the Knicks in any kind of package involving Lee, the only significant chip the Knicks have left to use in a potential deal.

Spurs are reportedly not interested in anything the Knicks have including Lee for a S&T for TP.

If you get Parker, I say add Mike Miller.

PG-Parker
SG-Miller
SF-Chandler
PF-Gallo
C-Stoudemire

I'd like to figure out a way to add Jermaine O'Neal and ask him to block shots as well.

doesnt make sense. He plays center now.

Who is the center? McDyess?

Duncan is the center. Plus he's a step slower then he used to be. Go watch what Amare did to him in the playoffs. Duncan is still a great player but he's better off guarding 5s at this point

Funny how everyone talks Lee is one of the worst players around but you want to trade him for Rubio or Parker. Bottom line San Antonio isnt trading Parker and Nuggets arent trading Melo. Lee has alot of interest no matter what happens he will be fine.

Spurs want to move Parker to make room for Tiago coming over from Europe.

Yeah, we don't do that.

Defensively, though, he's pretty awful.

stop exaggerating... no one thinks that lowly of D Lee... everyone thinks he's a good player otherwise people wouldn't be bringing up names like Parker or Rubio... the truth remains his defense sucks so the idea of having a frontcourt with him & another defensively challenged player is a dumb idea.

spurs won't give us tony parker.

i'd focus on re-signing dlee and signing r felton to add to amare.

the idea that dlee and amare wouldn't play well together is silly - dlee hits mid-range jumpers, amare kills on the pick and roll.

DLEE + AMARE + FELTON.

sign on!

the idea is that they won't defend at all together... get it straight.

folks, does everyone really think that the Spurs are going to outright just say they are amenable to trading for pieces that Knicks have to offer? I mean, that's negotiation 101.

i think dlee/amare/gallo/chandler/felton could be a solid defensive unit. not great shotblocking, but amare and lee can hold their own.

i honestly don't think it'd be that bad.
