Knicks appear to be doing all they can here. Requested and got a second meeting -- all we can ask for right? This second meeting undoubtedly had to do with Amar'e Stoudemire -- as in, we have a good chance at Amar'e, is that enough? If not, what else would you require? I like it..Hey for all we know, maybe team Lebron said to us, "go make a big move, then come back and talk to us." Listen, the King's probably a longshot at this point but I like that we got a crack at a second meeting to go over some stuff. We obviously had something we needed to tell him (could it be that we now could get Bosh in a S&T??). Hopefully it was about Amar'e and then some or about Bosh...As far as I know, not many teams got a 2nd meeting with one of these big potential targets except Chicago with Wade. And now us.

He probably told them he is staying with Cleveland and they asked for a second meeting to convince him otherwise. Either way, having a second meeting cannot hurt.

It sure can't.

I think they're going to offer to move the Knicks to Ohio so that LeBron can sign with the team.

Its a good thing. I think the Knicks went to LeBron to ask a BRIGGS question. Do you want to play with Lee or Amare? Do you want Morrow or Miller? Is Amare 50 years old?

This is where the Knicks really lay it on the table in terms of what deals they have in place should he accept to come. Now it's no longer about how weak our roster is, cuz we'll have an improved team and more options to improve further. I like our chances in this case, cuz we know Amare is down. Toronto seems to be on board with the idea of doing a S&T for Bosh and Lee. We have some serious heat going for us.

Funny how most of the media wanted to make this seem like we were garbage, but in reality we have a pretty solid position. No lock, but we are surely at the top of this process with the other teams.

O'Neil is the marketing/branding guy, and Grunwald is in charge of basketball operations.. it's not about a last ditch offer to convince him otherwise, in my opinion..it's a very good sign that we're in this race up to our eyeballs.

Yeah this is the serious stuff here. No more playing around. Those rumored deals are likely only a few of the options the Knicks have ready to go if he comes.

If there's a second meeting, we're at least in consideration. I don't see LeBron wasting everyone's time and his time if we're out of it. Good news.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Lebron wasn't at the meeting. So I'm not sure what the take is on this as our GM said he was assured the Knicks would talk to him again before he made his decision. This was already pre-arranged if anyone is keeping up with the news. The Knicks took it upon themselves to take the second meeting as soon as possible.

I have no idea what we could be working on but I tell ya right now, if the plan is to sign Amar'e, sign LeBron and make a trade for Tony Parker (now using Gallinari as bait if need be ), I don't care who else we get to fill out the rest, that trio is good enough to get to the finals.

Let me hear LeBron refuses Amar'e/TP and all the earning potential that goes with playing here that they carefully outlined for him in the Interbrand presentation the other day. If he refuses all that, fine, NP..Good luck buddy...On to plan B (Melo Anthony ).

Reports coming in that Mav Carter and "maybe" LeBron will be in NY Wednesday. Pinch of salt, its TD again.

I would think Gallo would be valuable in Lebron's mind as the kickout option... If they trade for a 1, I think they try to do it without Gallo as a piece.

Might not be enough Pete..With LeBron and Amar'e on board for it, there's no way you let Danilo Gallinari hold up a trade for Tony Parker, a 3-time champion and one of the better pure PGs in the league who's still right in his prime. Of course you try to pry him loose using a Curry/Chandler/TD package but if that's not enough and SA insisted on Gallo, I'm in. I don't see how it's even an issue...And I like Gallo..

I agree you need to ge Parker or a good PG, but you cannot gut the team to do it. Parker is the man, but if we trade Gallo, lose Lee to FA or we ship out Chandler etc. The. Lebron and Amare + Parker will have no supporting cast.

This is complicated since our cap space is so limited. Maybe I am missing something but I believe we have a fair amount of the roster that will need to be filled out. Otherwise we will have some stars and no bench.

Believe me, I want 3 big names who can ball - but we need to strike a balance here.

if SA loves George Hill as much as they say they do, they should do Parker a solid and send him where he wants to go for Curry's expiring and the young improving solid Chandler..

With Amar'e in tow and in order to get LeBron to commit I had to trade for TP where SA insisted on Gallo, I would do it without hesitation.

I probably would as well, but I might roll the dice on TD + Gallo over just Parker.. I really like Gallo and TD and that Parker trade sends one away and buries the other...

Knicks met with LeBron's agent Sat. in CLE to make new pitch with Amar'e in fold. LeBron wasn't there, had dinner w/ friends in Akron.

Knicks are still considered long shot. NY Daily News first reported second meeting w/ agent Leon Rose.

Knicks have a new chip in game with Amare & they're taking it for a spin. Bulls, Heat had same battle plan if they'd gotten a commitment.

What Knicks really want is LeBron to visit NY with Amar'e to try to close deal. LeBron has been non-committal so far.
