You read that this team wants this guy to take a little less/ dont want to pay this guy the max--the Knicks came in with all of their chips at the table and are using them to bully it around--and it may end up working. They are not trying to skimp in nay angle--that is what I am taking away from cumulative reading. I think or I can tell the Heat are and the Bulls are cheap. The problem with the Knicks is spending the money wisely

Look if they end up with one of the top guys, then the money will have been spent wisely. Lebron, Wade, Amare, Bosh are the top guys. Two PF's and Two perimeter studs. We just need to end up with one of the PF's and one of the other two. We aren't out of it yet, so let's hope and pray we can catch a break and one of them realizes this is the right move.

I mean come on! How can they turn down the option to play with either Bosh or Amare? They're not gonna get anything better than that. Don't tell me Rose and Noah, cuz they aren't that good.

Dolan is showing that he is willing to dole out the dough but you also have Donnie spinning the scenarios. I think the latter is what we really have working in our favor- a flexible approach that gives the free agents something to ponder. The fact that it took Johnson this long to accept the Atlanta deal tells you that there are multiple possibilities and FA pairings still our there, and we are a major factor in everyone's minds.

This whole thing is crazy. Bosh wants his 6th year and that hurts Miami and Chicago, cuz they don't seem to have any trades that the Raptors would want. NY has already gotten Amare to verbally suggest he's down and Toronto seems to be good with getting Lee. NY is in the drivers seat in terms of the two TOP PF's. We can lock up either guy. Now if i'm Wade I beat Lebron to the punch and take NY!!! He would totally mess Lebron up by doing that and taking Bosh as his teammate. Lebron would have to go to Miami in order to get Amare or stay in Cleveland. This move would provide protection for Wade against being shut out of getting a winning team.

our cap flexibility is turning out to be both a strong offensive and defensive weapon.

@nixluva. I was thinking along those lines as well. Just yesterday I told a friend that I thought there was a very good chance that Wade could make the first move. No reason to wait for Lebron. Wade should take his choice of power forward and run.

This is called first mover advantage. We are controlling partof the action here by putting the chips on the table. Its as double edged sword, but in this game its a huge benefit to have this advantage. Rumors of Lee agreeing to potential S&T with Toronto means we now have doubled our advantage. Bosh will follow the money he is just waiting on Lebron or Wade to jump. Can you now start to appreciate what Donnie is doing for the team?

Exactly, Wade can do the same thing we did and turn the tables on Lebron by acting first. This will get pretty interestng tomorrow.

Word. I see it exactly the same way as Nixluva. Amare was a very shrewd move. Maybe when all is said and done we Knicks fans aren't the only ones who thinks MSG and NYC are the Mecca.
