LeBron is holding his normal Nike Skills camp in Akron this week, starts tomorrow and ends wednesday night. All along one thing ive thought would be a big clue, is whether or not he waits until after the camp ends to announce his intentions.... If he were to leave, you would think he would make that announcement AFTER the camp was over, as you could understand it would be kind of awkward for him to be holding that camp in Akron after hes announced hes leaving. If he were to stay, what better time to announce it than during his Akron camp?

Well, it came out today, hes making his decision AFTER the Nike Camp has concluded. Could this be a sign that hes made a decision to leave and doesn't want to make his announcement just because he wants to finish up his commitments in Ohio before doing so?

Do you have any idea what kind of commotion would occur with him announcing it while he's concentrating with the young kids ?

Media storm that comes to his camp and distracts everything that he's trying to accomplish with the youth ?

Cmon that would be the worst possible scenario if he really cares about the kids and the camp.

IMHO if he made any announcement during the camp , he would look like a self seeking drama queen that only cared about himself and not the kids he's supposed to be mentoring.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

It was reported by MANY different outlets that LeBron and his camp were informing teams that hed like to make a decision by the 5th, before the start of the camp. Now thats changed. Maybe thats changed because his plans changed. I don't know

Also I think you are going overboard talking about how he wouldn't have possibly ever made any announcement during the camp, because it would distract his work with the kids. Thats absolutely ridiculous. Hes playing basketball with some HS/College aged kids for a couple days, yea he doesn't want to distract from that. Please tell me you are being sarcastic. Especially if he were staying in Cleveland, that would be a great place for him to announce it.

I think its ridiculous to state that LeBron declaring his intentions during the Nike Camp would in any way lack class or professionalism. Thats what i find ridiculous about what you are saying. Especially if that announcement entailed him staying in Cleveland. LeBron can't win here. You somehow bizarrely would find it unclassy and attention-whoring if he announced his decision during the 3 day camp. Others will find him to be an attention whore for letting it drag on and waiting until after the camp was over to make his call.

I dont believe he would announce hes leaving Cleveland, while that camp in Akron is being held though.

Even if LeBron did leave the CAVS, do you think he'd quit offering the clinic in his hometown of Akron?
I don't.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Nor do I. But there is the potential for extreme awkward-ness if he announced during the camp that he would be leaving, as opposed to coming back in a year. He will always keep ties to Akron, but i cant imagine him making an announcement that he would leave DURING this camp. Any announcement at all would be hes staying

guys, lebron not going to turn down 30mm additional guaranteed money. Knicks and bulls can make all the projections about him making 1bill but we don't know if that will happen. As for the 30mm extra, that guaranteed... he stays and try to persuade bosh into coming to cleveland via sign and trade...

I doubt he goes full distance on a contract. He should do a 3 year opt out.

This contract is not about money. He gonna make plenty.

If I was Lebron, I would've closed up shop on my own camp after he got dunked on.

I think that it is very realistic that LeBron gives up the 30 mill. With the guarantee that he can make it up all he has to do is become the spokeman for the Optimum and sign a contract for 30 million. Done deal.

COME ON MAN!!! We all know that lebron would be re-signed before his contract is up in 5 years. There's no way that NY let's him reach the end of his contract if he came. Now yes there's the possibility of a career ending injury, but if i'm Lebron I don't think like that. I think about the immense off court money there would be by winning in NY. If he comes we'll be winning big for years and all he has to look foward to in Cleveland is more of the same. Great regular seasons but no championships.

He's Ohio's favorite son. He can do something no one has ever done for cleveland basketball, win a championship. he can build his own legacy in Ohio.

I also think he's going to convince his boy bosh to come to cleveland and tehy'll try a sing and trade with toronto.

I heard speculation that he was going to tell the kids in his camp that he was staying on Monday. It was just sports radio but it was being talked about as how he would make his grand return to the Cavs.

I just can't imagine Bosh would go to Ohio. That's very nearly crazy talk.
