Reports are Rudy Gay about to sign 5 year, $80 million deal to stay in Memphis. Good for him and that pretty much kills Plan C for Knicks

yeah, add in $40M for Salmons and $32M for Gooden and $20M for Darko and it's a little ridiculous for the owners to plead poverty.

the grizzlies owner was one of the biggest culprits in pleading poverty and he gives rudy $81M? geeeeez.

Wow it is going to be a feeding frenzy in the market.

Mike Miller might get 10 million per.

Boys, this could get f'in ugly. I wouldn't mind so much if we had our draft picks, but if we strike out in FA and have no draft picks, we're ****ed for a looooong time.

isn't Memphis cash strapped? They got OJ May, Marc Gasol coming up next season. They got Mike Conley at $5M and $6.5M this year and next and Thabeet earning $5+M in the D League. That team gonna be hurting.

if they don't sign lebron, i think the knicks must shift focus to chris paul and take back ok4 + peja + posey. though it would probably be easier for fans to just get league pass and watch the hornets.

yes. we'll have either the Knicks or Rockets picks whichever is worse (unless we pick #1 in which case we keep it). the 2012 pick is top 5 protected for five years. if we haven't conveyed a pick to the rockets after five years, it becomes two second round picks.

i don't think even the knicks have enough cap room to take back all that.

the premium on lebron, bosh and amar'e is now officially through the roof.

(though joe johnson wisely hasn't agreed to atlanta yet)

well that sucks.

hopefully the rumors about kahn trying to shove jefferson on us are true and we can send them chandler/curry for a jefferson/rubio package. that still gives us teh ability to sign a max FA this year. maybe amar'e? jefferson is a lowpost player and amar'e moves around.. could be a nice frontline.

the nets could officially screw us on david lee.

they could frontload a deal with a $20M first year payment. that's supposedly why memphis signed gay pre-emptively...

WojYahooNBA
Grizz worried of Rudy Gay signing a frontloaded offersheet of $20 mill in 1st year and made a preemptive strike with max offer, sources say.
