Very open to listening to their pitch."

Is there a point to LBJ telling the Knicks to keep their chins up and we are still very much in play? Does it mean he is concerned we might blow our cap away making rash moves to avoid becoming the scrubs of the FA signing period? Does it mean he has a plan and doesn't want the Knicks to f*(k it up by signing someone he doesn't want?
Inquiring minds want to know.
We should tell him that we have decided to stop pursuing him and are now going to focus on some of the other FAs out there and see how he reacts.
I'll kiss his ass if, and when,he comes here- especially if he drags Bosh with him, but I am sick of the Knicks kissing this guy's feet while his handlers seem to be leaking daily comments about all the non-NY teams James is going to.
He should tell his band of psychophants to keep their mouths shut.
Man, I couldn't agree with that more Pal...Moonangie does raise an interesting point above though. I can definitely see how you can interpret LeBron's willingness to still meet with the Knicks like that..We'll see what happens..
I still believe the whole thing comes down to a big roster upgrade we might still have up our sleeve, probably for a PG (Okafor/Collison, Tony Parker). And I don't want to hear Luke Ridnour (nice little steady performer I guess but this guy's not attracting anyone plus he'd chew up valuable cap room)....Collison or Parker might be two moves we're prepared to make only if LeBron & his 2nd banana agree to come here..Donnie might have to hear that from these guys before he surrenders Chandler & TD to anyone (you know thats what it'll take along with EC's expiring contract)..It does make a lot of sense for us to be very much involved with those two teams (NO & SA) for those players---I can definitely see a willingness by both of those teams to make those deals too btw -- NO if we agree to take Okafor's monster contract and it looks like SA may be prepared to go with George Hill at the point [Parker never recovered his starting job once he came back from injury last year
] plus I think they really like D-Leaguer Curtis Jerrells as a PG for the future on the cheap. Shedding Parker wouldn't be the long-term savings NO would get by dumping Okafor on us but he still makes $13.5M this year. That's a lot of money for a guy they intend on being the backup PG..Parker as a backup PG to George Hill just isn't gonna work out there--he'll be unhappy & demanding a trade not before long. The Spurs may not want that type of distraction. Parker's already coming out & telling people that he wants to be a Knick btw. SA may also really like Chandler & TD...Point is I can very much see us and both of those teams agreeing to either of these deals...Makes too much sense for everyone...I'm just surprised we haven't heard anything --- maybe Donnie's got a gag order on both of those teams (or the one team/trade he's zeroed in on) -- kind of like 'if you open your mouth, the deals off' type of thing..Not sure why Donnie would insist on a gag order but he may have his reasons (maybe he wants his competitors in this to think that they've done enough --- maybe he doesn't want Chicago or Miami scrambling/going overboard to clear even more room or make a trade themselves if they thought we had Parker or Okafor/Collison coming -- who knows)..
This whole thing is killing me though --- are we out of it?/do we still have a shot here? Everytime I think we're out of it, Tommy Dee, Moonangie, Larry Coon or someone else points out a few thing where I begin to feel we still have a chance...Jesus, my nerves are shot man..
