Obviously we have two different interpretations of the term "COMMUNITY PICK" on U.K

(Picks up Mic) When it comes to NBA basketball where the predominate player is African American, a "Community Pick" would be a white player that's usually over hyped or taken sooner than expected in the draft whether he's American or International player, but he looks predominately like the PAID AUDIENCE that watches NBA games in the Arena's. The media usually gives him a pass on draft night if he's known in college or overseas to do one thing well if that. It's usually a reach pick to go after him, but the hype kind of gives fans a very optimistic point of view.

That my friends is my definition of a community pick (Drops Mic)

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Thanks for that piece of information. Can you please make a few conspiracy threads to describe it?

You really should seek professional help.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

So the kid picked by Utah with our pick would be a community pick- right?

Utah's pick at 9 did seem a little suspicious, but then again it's Utah that's what they do.

Larry Bird was right behind them waiting to pick up Hayward.

What if Gallinari turns out to be a superstar, of Birdian proportions?

Can he ever shake his "community pick" reputation?

This is really stupid. Why bring up race hiding it behind sports on the basketball side of the forums? and man what about the Lopez brothers? you are going to drive them into therapy!

If he comes on and becomes deservedly of the 6th pick overall in the 2007 draft sure he can remove the CP reputation, I would gladly admit to it if it happens.

So, what about if a minority is drafted in another sport where whites are the majority? Is there a term for that too?

I just think it's a little silly to make this sort of accusation, when the NBA has a majority of NBA players that are of African American descent, and cities like NYC have a lot of diversity. Maybe you're suggesting that there should be no white players.

Playa, I suppose Stockton was a community pick also?

Utah for years has been a great franchise staying up near the top third year after year. Stable ownership, stable GM's, stable coach (longest tenured coach in north american history of any franchise in any league!!) No they did not win a title but thats not what we are discussing here.

You know, I see teams winning the seats are packed. The biggest stars in the NBA are black and adored by all races and all people the world over. MJ was huge, Kobe is huge and Lebron is huge. In Europe, China and Africa the same!

Win and your loved. winning has no prejudice!

The reason Playa brought this up is b/c he's attempting to be slick by talking about this, so he can eventually fade into his anti Gallo rants.
