How many wins next year translates into a successful off season here? Forget about the names for a minute and focus on the team. Whoever is on this team will be a new face and brought in here by current management. No more playing out the string on pricey vets. Every play (post Curry) will part of the new team.

So how games do the Knicks win for this season to be considered a success?

42-45 gotta be .500 and win before you be anything
45-50 back to being a respectable team
50-55 top 5 team in the East and winning a playoff round
> 55 need to make at least ECF for this to be worth it
wins dont matter, I'm going to find some player they should have drafted and bitch about that one guy all year
the wins are nice but not nice enough because they didnt build the team MY WAY. So I am going to bitch all year....

You phrased it wrong !

I know they aren't building the team to win a Championship(the right way), but only to entertain, so I will bitch and complain all year.

50 wins and a team that's near the top of the East and at the least a 2nd round team. If Lebron is here nothing short of ECF's would be acceptable. I lower it a bit without him. If you're gonna do all this you have to come out of it with a winning team and deep playoff run in year one. With Lebron I would have to say that ECF was necessary to really please the fans and Lebron would probably only be happy with a trip to the finals.

50-55 wins - given that management has gone all in, traded picks, abandoned players along the way.

I would hazard to guess there is more than a good chance that you would be doing this even if we landed Wade, James, and Bosh.

I agree...I think 50 wins is about right considering FAs are about winning now. If they dont win 50 because of a slow start or something I would expect them to win a playoff round.

given that they dealt the picks, they should improve next year to around 500. a succesful offseason would be getting lebron, but along the same lines i think it would be a success if they didn't overpay for anybody.

After 10 yrs of dysfunction , I'm waiting to find hope again for our beloved knicks. This is more that some of us can bare.

I would say at least 28 wins. Rome wasn't built in a day. Besides, even if our team loses, our guys will still be winners.

Are you sure your expectations aren't a little too high? Larry Brown was allowed to get 23 wins. I don't think we should hold our guys any higher than that. Maybe even lower.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

You're right. 20 is the magic number.

20 makes me a little uneasy. What if Eddy Curry stubs his toe? I'm going with 18 wins.
