so if the cap is 56mm and our official salary total is 18,637,239 then we have exactly 37,362,707 to spend.

phantom cap holds of $470,000 for each empty slot on the roster. We have more like $21M committed, so ~$35M in cap room. Obviously, the phantom holds go away one by one as we sign guys.

just looking at that - isn't Sergio's $2mm qualifying offer something we can also waive?

Yes, it's not part of the $18.6M committed figure. I heard he already signed in Spain, so I'm guessing he's gone.

We can waive Bill Walker by August 1st and have no cap hit, too. His contract is not guaranteed until then. But he's obviously a pretty good bargain at $800,000.

its great. For 10 years that page has been an eye sore to look at. Now its all gone and all clean.

I know we are missing a 2012 pick and next year's is a trade down w/ the Rockets, but its nice to have good management and a clean slate.

I also like the type of cheap talent Walsh looks to add. Rather than retards and retreads like Balkman, Quentell Woods, Vin Baker, Jerome JAmes (sorry Marv), Lee Nailon, bla bla bla I like Douglas, Rautins, Fields and the new Jerome. Experienced college players from winning programs. Skilled hardworking guys. Nice change of pace

Knicks books looks even cleaner than Wall street.

I just hope after all the deals, trades and signings, we'll still end up in the bottom half of the NBA's payroll.

A little advice -- always add up all of the salaries yourselves instead of relying on their yearly totals at the bottom. It's always different, sometimes by several million...

Team options and qualifying offers are not added by default.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
