Any time a FA wants to sign with the Knicks, some UK skeptics bring up the old smoke and mirrors argument: The FA isn't
really trying to sign with the Knicks, he's just using the Knicks to inflate his value.
Now, the Knicks have been a clear target for Lebron for years. But with the 2010 FA about to start, we're hearing rumors about every single team - but the Knicks. You see where I'm going?
First, it's Lebron's going to stay in Cleveland for two more years.
Then, the big rumor was Lebron to Chicago - all started by some reporter at ESPN.
Yesterday, Lebron was going to Miami to team up with Wade.
Today, even the Nets have a higher chance of getting Lebron than the Knicks.
Is this just smoke and mirrors by Lebron? The only question is motivation. His value is already at max, so is there anything he would get on the side by increasing the competition with some well placed rumors? I'm guessing that, yes, there is but I'm not sure what.
