By fri, this is what will happen:

Wade stays and finds out Boozer and Ray allen will be coming to miami

Lebron ends up telling everyone he's staying with cleveland

Somehow Cleveland pulls a sign and trade w/ toronto bringing in chris bosh.

Knicks ends up with 2nd tier free agents. Mike dantoni's rejects Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudimre. Afterwards, they trade wilson chandler/Curry's contract for a starting pg and defensive minded center.

David Lee ends up in Chicago to play alongside Noah.

Nowitski's resigns with Dallas

Anyone else have any crystal ball predictions on what happens?

The Future. GO KNICKS!

Knicks trade Curry/Chandler for Jefferson and the rights to Rubio after signing Joe Johnson and David Lee.

I truly believe that Chandler is acornerstone of this team, pot bust and all. Find another scenario.

Joe Johnson and Amare would make the most sense for us to end up with.

For some reason it seems too easy that we would get Wade or LeBron.

Johnson's skills would make both Gallo and TD more effective players and Amare would have a ton of room to operate with that group of players.

I think Lee loves NYC too much to leave and ends up with the Nets.
LBJ goes to Chicago because he's a punk.
Wade stays in Miami because its SouthBeach and Riley has some sort of spell over him.
Gay gets a near max deal from the Clips.

Allen is the interesting one. I think he could end up anywhere, but I bet whoever he plays for is in the finals next year.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

My prediction.

We sign Joe Johnson for the max
We S&T Chandler for Rudy Gay
We trade Curry for Ellis
We sign Barron

Barron
Gallo
Gay
Johnson
Ellis

Wishful thinking.

Totally forgot about rudy gay who would fit well under mike dantoni's system. I think knicks will try to acquire tony parker. It would be asahme of knicks rid themselves of wilson chandler, best knicks defender on the team. I truly believe dantoni and walsch are going after joe johoson and stoudaimre. Both players flourished under his system in phoenix and mike knows what to expect from both players. I would target rudy gay instead of JJ due to the age factor. Rudy is much younger..

I agree that Chandler is a cornerstone and I have written about several times here. However, I don't think he is valued enough by his own team. His name is in every trade scenario and he is the most accomplished player on the team.

We need a superstar to win a title. End of story.

All these players listed will not win us a championship...ever. They are nice players (some of them) but I am not wasting my future on them. They are simply a gateway to mediocrity, aka back to where we were around the Layden days.

I'm not signing players because we are impatient and want to win now with just anybody. That's what got us into this situation. I'd rather lose with a lineup of Douglas, Walker, Gallinari, Chandler and Curry then be mediocre with any of those free agents.

I've heard suggestions for other non-max guys like Ray Allen, Korver and Miker Miller. Ray Allen has one foot into retirement, Mike Miller is in his 30's and declining and Kyle Korver can only shoot 3's. So basically we want to put together a roster of one dimensional 3-point shooters and add them to a Joe Johnson and hope for the best. Nice idea. Too bad you wont win a title with it.

Signing Amare and Johnson for example would be an epic failure of 1st round exits. I am not interested in re-creating a weaker version of the D'Antoni Suns teams. Too bad the Garden fanbase has such low expectations that this would be a success. But then what? In 3 years we'll be complaining about these guys and looking to trade them. Except they'll be in their 30's and on the downside of their career on max contracts. Then we'll be right back where we started.

It's not worth it.

i also dont get the fascination with second tier guys. that == second tier team/results. to clear out the crap and go right back into maxing guys who cant win or wont live up to contracts... maybe somehow the second tier maxed guys will be diff this time, however does that seem likely?

I predict that after Walsh fails to LeBring LeBron to the Knicks, the fans gather en mass in front of the Garden chanting and yelling.

Suddenly, a splinter group breaks off and starts rocking a car back and forth. A larger crowd gathers and together they tip the car over, dancing madly.

Some people have brought along molotov ****tails, which they proceed to fling at the garden entrance, igniting a small blaze. The crowd is so large and angry that the firemen can't get in to fight the blaze. Riot police appear on the scene in baby blue helmets. Brandishing their billy clubs, they wade into the crowd, swinging at any head in the vicinity, but they are beaten back by the angry crowd.

Meanwhile, the blaze in front of the garden has begun to get out of control. It begins spreading through the lobby... Up the stairwells and into the arena. The seats begin to smolder and bubble.... The whole garden is engulfed in flames! It's so out of control, the crowd outside runs away, but it's too late - though they fight it valiantly, the firemen can't stop the conflagration. Inside, the fire has reached the rafters....

Bill Bradley's blazer - #24 - is the first to go, followed in quick succession by Ewing #33, Willis Reed #19... Walt "Clyde" Frazier #10... All the blazers of the great Knick legends going up in fames! Oh, the humanity!

Meanwhile, Walsh sits calmly in his office somewhere deep in the bowels of the garden. Mike D'Antoni is there too, and Chris Duhon. It's getting very hot and smoke is beginning to seep into the room. Walsh lights up a cigar. "Well," he says, "I guess that plan didn't work out too good, huh?" D'Antoni refuses to believe it's all over. "I'm not gonna die here like a dirty rat! he yells, and makes a break for it, duhon close behind. They run out into the flaming hall. Seconds later, Walsh can hear their tortured screams, knowing that he too will be screaming, and will soon follow his comrades, nigh unto the very gates of hell!

Hmm, considering possible plan Bs, that's not really a bad one. We would still need a center (although maybe the new "JJ" will pan out for us). Could be a nice team indeed. But why would Minny do it?

Anything less then LeBron James and Chris Bosh is a failure. Very hard to stomach and get excited over Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire. Johnson is a fugazy 'Star' who will crumble in New York. Guarantee it takes less then a month before he get's booed. He just doesn't have the DNA to play in this city for these fans and this medio. And I love Stoudemire but he's not a franchise player. We're pretty much the weaker version of the Phoenix Suns without Steve Nash. That's a .500 team at best.
