Ok, Donnie went for the brass ring and the reality is if he kept Craw-Zbo etc we'd not be on the road to anyting in spite that fact that we likley were never more than 25-33% favorites to get Lebron.
With Clev. always the favorites at the same odds, that leaves only Miami-Chi to fill in the rest who have the same odds.
At best we had a 66-75% chance of NOT getting Lebron.
Remember the Nets had the best chance at no.1 pick. 25%! Then we all suprised when it does not come to fruition.
Same here. Walsh went all in early. Bulls made a nice last minute push and Miami has just two players on the payroll.
We had to expect other teams get aggressive. We had the early lead but others uppped the prize.
So lets have one thread. Since everything that happens has to be SOMEONES fault then have at it. Sometimes circumstances just don't fall into place.
Chicago in a way seems to have been underperforming the last few years and perhaps they too have sacrificed. Miami has been bloody awful and maybe construed to be have sacrificed. Not just the Walsh Era Knicks.
A tandem of Amare-Johnson would be good but the problem to me is 3 years into it these guys are gonna break down and we right back to where we are.
We can build it to contend but winning it all is a bit of luck. And lets be real, 60% of all championships have been from two franchises.
Be nice to build it thru the draft and do it the right way by which you just need one free agent starphuch to complete the team but thats just not in the cards.
Walsh can still undo what he did and take on salary with young assets and picks. Its doable, but thats not gonna happen here.
Beat yourself up Knick fans and place your blame here.

When problems occur, people do not like to blame themselves. They will thus actively seek scapegoats onto whom we can displace our aggression. These may be out-group individuals or even entire groups. Like bullies, we will often pick on powerless people who cannot easily resist. Since we are not in direct contact with Walsh, MDA or Dolan, we go full tilt. We would never do it in their presence because for all we know, they are likable good people who are trying hard to solve the problem at hand.
Of course we have the infamous "escapeGoat"......

Its tough to look ahead when looking back is so easy. Especially in a Rolls!
