Isn't he basically as old as Walsh? How old is he?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Same age. But Thorn is still on top of his game.

I know the new owner wanted him to stay. I think he was ready to move on. He would be great for the Knicks. Maybe next year after the dust has settled he can take Walsh's place.

I thought if they drafted Wesley Johnson he would be leaving. I thought the Favors pick might mean he would stay.

If Thorn is stepping down that probably means LeBron is not going there.

Thorn can't party with the russian.

Was quoted "Getting too old for this ****".

Russian wants to jet him away and talk biz in the hot tub with 10 naket world class Russian girls.

Thorn just wants to sleep.

I would not read too much into all of this.

So i have read many multiple articles over the past 2 days suggesting that new Nets owner Prokhorov offered Thorn contract extension but at an 80% discount of what he was currently making and that was part of the reason Thorn decided to move on. Anyone find this a little strange? Especially after it was considered the big attraction for players to the Nets team was supposed to be Prokhorov's endless amounts of money?

Maybe that was his way of getting rid of Thorn? He may want to start over wih new mgmt, especially since the Nets came in last. Just guessing here.

I do think it is strange. I wonder if Thorn participated in any negotiating or just decided that it wasn't worth his time or that he should have been treated with more respect. Thorn seems like a good guy to have on your side if you are a new owner.
