You know what, that is an interesting thought. Donnie couldn't move up to take a 1 outright last night because of cap restriction (or didn't want to - now hearing that Donnie didn't think this draft was deep enough with talent to warrant going after a higher selection -- SAY WHAT OLD MAN?????

), but still nabs one of the 1st rounders he coveted in a forthcoming trade...Hey, maybe man...I tell ya, I slept on it and unfortunately woke up feeling the same damn way --- I just don't feel like we did enough to help ourselves last night....Inactivity, no aggressiveness (I know our hands were pretty much tied but come on man, DO SOMETHING -- they let Hassan Whiteside go to the Kings at 33???, pick 25 just going for cash still stings, WTF-did we purchase Jerome Jordan or not?, why not purchase Darington Hobson why they're at it-they liked him enough, etc..), then the back-to-back double reach for two guys that would've went undrafted...Bad night all around last night guys, I'm sorry. I'm not ready to slit my wrists here, but they really needed to do better...Oh well..Onto the next phase, which is planning the summer league roster (which should've started last night hopefully -- right after the draft concluded, I would've been working the phones with these undrafted players' agents making offers - there are plenty of viable options available, that's for sure).
There were a few guys during the chat last night, Nix & maybe one or two others, that thought that whatever we did last night has no bearing on Lebron & Bosh's decision to come here next week....I couldn't disagree with that more..Maybe if we were already a stacked team like the Lakers or something, sure, but not with this roster we have...We did nothing to help ourselves last night and I really thought we needed to..Don't for one second think these top FAs aren't impressionable -- I mean did you see Kevin Durant's face everytime the Thunder made a pick? He looked excited (except when they picked Quincy Pondexter he looked a little confused but trust me KD, you got a good player with Q-Pon there as well)..Even when interviewed, he spoke intelligently about Cole Aldrich & how he's gonna help make a difference, and he even talked about being on the phone directly with his GM throughout the process...If you think these top FAs looked at what we did last night (or should I say what we didn't do) as some kind of success, think again...It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Lebron & Bosh called each other on the phone last night at some point to say 'Ok, well NY just made this an easy decision for us.' I'm still very dissappointed man.
