Does anybody really believe that Chaney was kept around because Dolan & company thought he could be a winning coach? Isn't it more reasonable to believe that the Knicks org. understood that the team wasn't going anywhere and considered Chaney the perfect coach for that situation? In that sense Chaney is the perfect fall guy.

I think the anger at Chaney is misdirected. If the Knicks org. doesn't like his coaching, they should fire him.

He's not going to quit. Put him, and the fans, out of our misery and fire him. What's the hold up?

It comes down to this--- Chaney is screwed. This is only the beginning with the fans. Even if we go on a 5 game winning streak, every moment we fall behind 10 points, he'll hear it from the crowd. With every loss, the chants will get louder.

The only way for him to save himself (assuming he wants to remain coach of the Knicks) is for him to guide us to the finals. With his coaching decisions, that'd be a miracle.

I like some of the things Chaney has tried to accomplish with the team--- but too often, we don't get it done.

The Knicks right now are a far better team than they were last season-- at least our parts add up to more. Gone are Sprewell, 'Spoon, Ward, & Eisley. Replacing them are Mutombo, Penny, Marbury, Moochie, Van Horn, and FW. Not to mention Sweetney.

The Knicks will need to win 3 of 4 or something of that sort for Chaney to make it past the all-star break.
