All of a sudden, we could have room for Bron and Bosh to come to a team with Johnson already on it.
JJ and Gallo at the wings will provide enough cover for LeBron and Bosh.
JJ and Gallo is as good a built-in platform for Bron/Bosh to go to as any team. (save miami, but i don't believe LeBron would go to miami)
If I was atl GM I would laugh my cahones off--you think the Knicks can force 11mm Curry $ on Hawks ---please son
Briggs- you may say you would laugh, but I think the Atlanta GM would be laughing because they've probably already accepted that they are losing JJ for nothing, and the chance to have Eddy in a contract year with 1-2 young pieces and perhaps some cash is probably more than they'll get anywhere else.
How would Rick Sund laugh this off exactly?? Franco's right on the money: they very well may lose this guy for nothing..Eddy Curry's a joke but he's a huge expiring contract--that's what makes him attractive in any trade, not his play and from what Kam has outlined, they'd also get Chandler & Douglas...If Mr. Sund can do better than that, so be it dude, go for it...But he may not be able too...That's a pretty fair deal (huge cap relief and two good young players that are salary controlled for the time being --- maybe Chandler improves upon his 15 & 5 he gave us last year, maybe TD improves to the point where he could make Mike Bibby & Jeff Teague expendable...It's not a terrible trade for a team that may lose this guy for nada...And I like the idea of having JJ & Gallo here and then still keeping the 2 max FA thing alive...Kam came up with a good idea here and it keeps in line with what I'm saying on another thread --- it's imperative that we look to make ourselves appear more attractive than we are now...It's the only way we'll have a shot to score big in free agency.
The only thing with this particular deal -- I understand JJ can handle the ball some and so could LeBron, one of the two big FAs we'd hope to lure in with this deal, but it really leaves us w/o a PG. I like the deal and I'd execute if everyone was on board..That might be the key to something like this --- Atlanta greenlights the deal along with Lebron AND Bosh's seal of approval --- if Atlanta said yes and Lebron & Bosh found it favorable and would agree to come with JJ in tow, you do the deal...If Bron/Bosh didn't immediately respond favorably, I probably pass and look elsewhere...Good call Kam and I don't think Atlanta hangs up the phone on us with this proposal...
