If I were the Knicks and Phil Jackson is going to retire from a pay cut as a
championship coach again if I am NY Knicks I'd at least watch the situation
going into 2011. Sure I dont like Phil and we heard about him only goint to
allstar situations. But like him or not he's a winner.

Especially if fans still are disgruntled next season and Knicks will still have cap $$$ space

FA sure would be lured to NY if Jackson really left Lakers, took 1 yr off and came back to
where he played as a Knick player.

Also Kobe Bryant says he cant see himself leaving LA but if he ever did only place he would
ok being traded to is NY.

I'd can MDA in 2011 in a jackflash if Jackson actually every became the NY Knicks coach.
We'd have nothing to lose as an organization and it would be very interesting if Jackson
actually got lured and wooed by the Garden management especially if he will not return to
LA next season 2010/11

He's either going to retire or coach the Lakers. That's it.

He's got 11 chips and only ten fingers. He will retire. His kids grew up in Woodstock, NY. He has a house there still. Chelsea is a Mom now and that makes Phil a grandpa. He's got health issues. If he doesn't retire, it will only be because he feels he can squeeze one more ring out of the Lakers next year. But I don't see him undertaking the project we've got going on right here.

Get used to MDA, because Walsh and the NYK are going to either prove his system, or be its demise (i.e., due to lack of defensive grit in the Finals). It's going to be really fun to watch, and it's going to be based on Lebron and Bosh. It starts in two weeks. Booya!

from RealGM:
Phil Jackson is apparently leaning towards retiring, but has yet to make up his mind.

"I'm leaning toward retiring, but I haven’t made up my mind," he said.

Jackson, 64, will continue to undergo medical tests and come up with a final decision next week, he said. He has had both hips replaced and has a chronically sore knee. He also has been bothered by kidney stones.

"Some of it's about health," he said. "That's the way I feel right now. I've had vacillating feelings about it.

"I have to sit on it and do the right thing for myself. I wouldn't say that I'm 95% or 50% sure. This is what I feel right now."

Jackson stated that money is not the issue at hand.

Re$$$$$
talks

Knicks can afford to offer him & let Phil tell them no

You never ever know how these things can turn out

I'm sure he heard the talks that he cant win from bottom up unless he has Allstar elite player despite his great winning pct as champion nba coach

Plus Phil is a Red Holzman disciple.
gives the late Knick coach praise for his teachings

Phil also has been softer on Knicks organization from Jackson's past Chi bulls days where
he always had nasty things to state regarding knicks teams

You really never know if he retired and could be lured out by some nba team.
Jackson reputation is for big players and big city teams.

Why not NewYork ??? He got all to gain and nothing to lose if he wanted to.
This all depends on how Lakers take care of Jackson $$$ or force him to retire.

He still needs that one ring to rule them all.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
