Haven't read it yet but there's the link

Love what I hear from Douglas.

"I don’t really tell myself ‘I’m going to be the starting point guard.’ I don’t say that. I’ve been in New York doing two-a-day’s from April and May and I just stay working on my game, on the offensive and defensive end. I can only control what I can control and that’s me becoming a better basketball player, staying working out."

For real - Douglas used to shoot like 3-400 shots a day game day or not. He was up at 6 in the am. hitting shots all day long you just know it is going in when it leaves your hand. sure that has not changed reguardless of D'Antoni's practice routine.

guy was defensive player of the year (ACC?). He was the fastest player in the combine, and one of the quickest ever measured. He can shoot and score and pass and defend. He may not be your prototypical floor general but this guy is sticking in this league. Only an injury can derail that. Great pick. Looking for more of this from Donnie tomorrow.

Douglas gives me more confidence in Walsh's ability to find good rotation guys late in the draft, and this draft is LOADED with those types.

Hope we can keep him given all the trade rumors going around.

Also hope that he gets the hang of being a PG for MDA, because he can already do so many other things for the team. I also feel that with his work ethic and toughness on the court he can develop into a team leader if we don't get an established star to fill that role.

A good kid who just took a little more time to feel comfortable in the NBA, something many on UK were unwilling to accept, given the attacks on him as a player during the SL. For me, the biggest blunder MDA made last year was not related to Hill, but how Douglas did not get the minutes he should have been getting given Duhon's ineptitude, and Nate's well documented issues with his coach.

The fact that Walsh is looking a number of PGs tells me he (probably on MDA's word) is not sold on Douglas being the perfect PG for a D'Antonio team, although I think he would be an excellent compliment to L. James if we were to somehow get him.

He's a leader. Remember it was a rookie year and he was not a highly reguarded pick. I believe some of d'Antoni's treatment is meant to motivate him to ge better. Also tough to get a bunch of expiring vets to listen to a rookie PG before he establishes respect. I am sure it will be much different next year...Starting in Summer League. If they don't trade him.

Douglas earned all his minutes last year. It was tough to get a rotation with all the guys in their final years. I know MDA and Walsh were hoping for more from some of those guys and were willing to let Doulgas sit while they tried to get something useful from guys like Hughes, Sergio, etc

MDA loves Douglas. He said point blank he didnt realize how good he was. Also remember MDA game Marcus Banks big money (bad signing). MDA wants a defensive scorer like Douglas. Start or no start I bet you Douglas plays 30 minutes a game next year

I won't do the legwork for you this time...but from an audio blog at fanhouse by Will Brinson
Toney is having two-a-days out at Weschester along with Walker and Chandler.
