Nice. And you know who is the most done from all of them? KG.

Pair him with Bosh and play him 33/34 minutes--he's got 3-4 years on him

It would be a great trade for the Knicks for sure.

Why would the Celtics blow up a title contender that might have another run in em?

and his second interesting comment that he’ll assess the Knicks’ chances of landing him “after draft night”. What you get is an overly optimistic inference by Jon (that yours truly agrees with) that the Knicks are going to trade for Bosh on draft night. Something that would send a bit of talent back to Toronto along with an escape from their contract quagmire. Something along the lines of Eddy Curry, Wilson Chandler and/or Toney Douglas and/or a draft pick the Knicks may be able to purchase so they can flip it, for Bosh and Turkoglu or Calderon.

I'd rather use those assets on KG, then sign Bosh outright.

With Bosh and KG in tow, LeBron would be ready to sign.
Shaq can join up for the minimum and a chance to beat Kobe next year.

Are you talking about today's KG? Why would I trade any asset for Kevin Garnett of 2010? This guy is flat out OLD. Don't tell me about the playoffs. Those knees are ready to fall off. This guy is already on the decline and will fall off a lot next year. It would be a waste to bring this guy to the Knicks. I don't like it at all.

KG still has a lot left. You're judging him based on being gassed in the finals.
But mainly, getting KG would be to attract Bosh and LeBron.
He only has two years left on his deal so its not like we're killing our cap.
In fact, the year KG comes off the books, we could use his deal to land a major piece the year before LeBron can exercise his option.

bosh is going to want that sixth year. bosh is going to take a sign and trade. and i do think he should be our primary focus. i think bron comes after bosh, not before. lebron will not need a sign and trade. bosh will.

and curry is not an asset.

and the idea that the celtics will blow up a team that got to 2 out of 3 finals and trade the heart of their team is pretty ridiculous.

the celtics still have Rondo, Pierce, KG, Perkins at the least. i don't think they're blowing up their team - maybe tinkering, but not blowing up...

Ending contracts are assets. Especially if we're heading into a lockout. Expect some teams to dump salary.

Yup.

I don't think you can count on him to play a full season anymore.

His legs are damaged/shot, he had a shoulder issue, his body seems old for his age...and he just turned 34.

Garnett is a warrior, but his best days are behind him. If you could pick him up for a $5M or less after landing James/Bosh, I would do it, but he is due $ 40M over the next 2 years, and even trading Curry, Douglas, and Chandler for him will still chop off about $4M from our cap room.

Maybe you make this trade 5 years ago, and if you choose to trade Chandler and Douglas, you do it for a player a lot closer to his prime than Garnett.

If we make this trade, and bring back TMAC, we'll be in business. Providing we use the rest of our cap room on a time machine that could take us back to 2002.
