Any thoughts as to who we'll be signing to pair with Lebron? :)

I think all of them are fairly average defenders.

Bosh provides the best length and upside from a shotblocking standpoint.
Boozer is the best post-up scorer and physical defender.
Lee is the best passer and is arguably the best shooter. He's also probably the shortest of the bunch.
Amare is arguably the most explosive scorer and athlete, in spite of his numerous knee injuries. But he also has the lowest BBall IQ (supposedly).

Would there be any scenario where it might make sense to try to keep Lee alongside Lebron and one of these other guys? Or is it a foregone conclusion that he's just a sign-and-trade chip?

Amare is the sexy fa choice but Lee is probably the one most worth what he'll be paid :)
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Bosh has the most potential as a defensive PF in terms of size and willingness to be a defensive presence. All four are average defensively at best, but Bosh is probably the best of the bunch. On offense, I think Bosh and Amare are a cut about Lee and Boozer. I think Bosh's game probably fits best with Lebron, but I think all four could make it work.

I actually think Lee would be the best match in terms of playing with Lebron. Unlike the others, he is accustomed to playing a supporting role. He doesn't need to be the #1 option on offense - or even #2 - to be effective.

With any of these FA's, we'd still need to find a defensively oriented big man.

Defensvely, one is waaay below average. No points for guessing.

i don't think Lebron comes here if D Lee is the other big FA we sign to play alongside him... so i think it's going to be Bosh if Lebron is coming to NY... i think Amare is headed to Miami myself.

The reason why Lee is a cut below Bosh is that there are times in the game when you need a 2nd player to be able to carry the team. Bosh has the kind of offensive skills that a lead player needs and if you saw KG and Gasol step up at times to help their teams, you know that you need a big that can do that at times. Lee isn't quite that kind of guy, tho he can score, I just don't see him as that guy you can depend on to get a tough bucket against the best players in the league in the playoffs on a regular basis. Even Boozer is more of a threat to make tough baskets in crunchtime than Lee. They both have legit go to moves that are tough to stop and dependable.

I rank the players like this
Boozer
Bosh
Lee
Amare

I rank Amare below those guys cause aside from Boozer Amare has played with better talent and hasnt
got it OR done the next level thing. Bosh and Lee get marks for playing on so-so teams and improved
with Bosh having edge.

I think professionally Boozer is a cut slightly above all of them and more rounded.
(scorer, defender, rebounds and avg passer). Boozer would be a great Knick if we had a real PG (Tony Parker?)
