We needed him last night, it was obvious even by KVH's most hated critic ( HARDCORE ) lol... The guy has been avg 22 pts & 10 rebs for the last 13 games !!! put those stats in the game & we win by 10 !!! The game against the Bucks was fools gold for those who thought we didn't need him in that one !!! He is our top scorer & rebounder !!! All hate aside you must agree !!! So trading him should be a NO NO !!!!
What does DICK CHANEY & DON CHANEY have in common ?? They both accidentally fell into a job they don't deserve & really suck at doing it !!!! Both need to be fired !!!

I agree but KVH wouldn't have helped us yesterday. Micheal Jordan can't help us with Chaney as our coach.

We did need him badly, especially for matchups against Dirk and Jamison, he could have played center in that game and we would have ranr right with Dallas from the tip as opposed to spotting a doulbe digit decifict before Chaney realized Deke can't gart Dirk lol. But even with that, moron Chaney would still probably made us play zone for 3 quarters, and even w/Horn that would still be a disaster. In ot he might have helped by just being another body able of scoring cause it looked like only Penny had any energy left. All that sad, if there is a way to trade Van Horn for a PF who can score inside and rebound, block some shots too, I would do it in a second.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I am not a KVH hater but don't discount defense-at SF he is a defensive liability. At PF his defense is at least adequate and he has shown enough this season to believe he can hit the boards on a consistent basis. I agree he may have made a difference last night playing PF even though give some credit to Othella who played reasonably well.

Orthella is a nice player. He rarley ever dissapoints. Very servicable as a back up. If Sweet would step up, Harrington could be a good barganing chip.

Or Doleac.

We need stromile swift. I would not mind a late 1st round pick.

We are running out of time for the playoffs. I don't want Phoenix getting a lotto pick. i don't want the ping pong balls to luck them into a top 3 pick.

That would justify tearing into Thomas. So lets just win now and get the job done.

Fire chaney. Thomas wants to coach at times and it works with his boy Malone, but undermines Chaney. Chaney is getting humiliated by Thomas these days and he needs to go. Chaney has a few rings with Boston, and is a respective person. He is not a bad guy and I hate for him to have this happen to him. Its just not working for him. Chaney is from Houstan and Jeff should add him to the staff next year.

Let Malone finish the season. Doc Rivers is a nice name but I don't know enough to determine if he and Isiah are compatable in their respective approach.

anyone that thinks KVH isnt a good player and cant help a team doesnt know hoops. He's overpaid and disappears late in games and in the playoffs. Thats not a knock, thats the facts.

That aside he's NOT the Howard Eisley of forwards. He's got a clear set of skills, and Layden didnt put players around him that compliment those skills.

KVH is an excellent rebounder in traffic, he's excellent getting garbage points (broken defenses, putbacks, etc.) and he's good at taking advantage of smaller or slower players. He also runs the floor VERY well and can finish on the break.

He's a LOUSY ball handler, a LOUSY creator, isnt good at getting his own shot.

I actually think with Steph and Frank instead of Ward and Eisley KVH will be a great asset for this team. I also like him more at the 4 with Penny or Shandon at the 3 in small line ups because of his speed and inside outside game.

IThomas hasnt just upgraded this roster, he dumped guys that were totally one dimensional (Spoon, Eisley, Ward who I liked, McDyess)and added guys who are more versatile and can play multiple spots in Penny and Marbury.

KVH's better play of late will inflate his trade value.
We can get a player in return with the skills to fit the skill sets we need on the team.

K9, I still view KVH the same as always... I'm just glad he's playing well enough to earn a ticket outta here.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

"We can get a player in return with the skills to fit the skill sets we need on the team."

What skills would those be? A healthy KVH is exactly what this team needs. When this trade first went down I hated it because I KNEW losing Spree's playmaking would cripple this offense more than KVH's size and rebounding would help it.

Now we have 3 wing players in Steph, Frank and Penny that can all run an offense better than any of the guys playing last year, so KVH becomes an important part of this team.

Those skills are:

*Low post offense:
KVH is not the kind of low post threat that can draw double teams, by any stretch of the imagination. We needs someone more versatile down in the low blocks. Solid offensive rebounding and better ballhandling would be pluses. Someone who gets the ball smacked out of his hands or having his dribble picked of is a minus.

*Defense (perimeter and post):
Let's face it. KVH is the weakest link when it comes to defense. How often have we seen him exploited on D by the opposition? The details on this one are too numerous to mention. Simply put, KVH isn't really sticking anybody. I'd rather have Penny'd D than KVH's lack thereof.

KVH is expendable. That, in a nutshell, is why he will eventually be traded.

Dont get me wrong, he's overpaid and still plays scared in crunch time but as a 3rd option he really is a perfect fit with the other players we have now

raweed is so overrated. He's not a bigtime post player or offesive rebounder by ANY stretch.

KVH is an excellent offensive rebounder.

McDyess was supposed to be that low post player, but lets face it. We are a guard oriented team. When thats Frank, Steph, Hou, and Penny thats not to bad. All we need is guys that can run, crash the boards and get some easy garbage points on putbacks and broken defenses. KVH fits that description perfectly. So does Swift, Chris Anderson, Camby, Ratliff.

He'd have a more conventional game in the East than how he's playing now. Right now he's playing where he can fit in the Blazers' system.

We already have perimeter players on the wing. Plus, he's a big man who opposition has to defend away from the paint too.

Here in the East we'll see what we need in Sheed. However, if we can't get him, Swift is another good candidate.

Anybody hear about the Knicks looking into Shareef? I am trying to remember where I read that...

RASHWEED shoots more 3's then KVH !!!!! But he is a low post presence !! The only block RASHWEED is patroling is the block around the corner from the CRACK HOUSE !!!

Did u READ my post? I said that Sheed's role in Portland is different than it would be here.

If you didn't cream those granny panties so damn quick while in that mad rush to defend ya boy KVH, maybe you would have noticed.

Now you can edit that post where you just played yourself or try to clean that mess up.

Are you a K9 with rabies, or a Snowman with Brainfreeze???

how about Drew Gooden or would Orlando rather trade Juwan Howard, which is problably the reason he has the starting job, so that they raise his value.

Get us Gooden, Swift or Camby. Either one of them will make us a more complete team. Then fire Chaney and put in a new coach and we are the best team in the East!
