Yup- I knew the guy was damaged goods- No other reason why a PG as good as he is supposed to be, quarterbacking a team with 5 first round (top 20?)picks, could not win the NCAA Championship.

why would you get the impression that he's damaged goods just because his back tightened up on him during a workout a couple months since his last real game action?

Afraid that my tongue in cheek response escaped your notice- but lets face it, we went through the entire Gallo episode, so his back being an "issue" has to garner some comments. "Damaged goods" was a popular phrase when everyone was dealing with Gallinari's back, and whether or not it was a pre-existing condition prior to the draft.

The rest of what I said besides the back is something to think about though when looking at all of those guys on Kentucky, and especially their choreographer. Good coach, 5 #1s, and no championship...Where do you assign "blame?"

sorry i'm a bit slow today... i think it was the shellacking my Korean team got from Argentina this morning that has me in a funk.

as to your second point, i really have no idea who to blame for Kentucky not winning... i thought they had the most talent without a doubt, but perhaps they lacked some of the experience? i was never a real fan of Calipari anyway... one thing i am pretty sure of though, is that John Wall is going to be a star at the NBA level.

Did I miss something? When did John Wall have back surgery and missed games due to his back? Sorry, nevermind don't let that stop a good rant.

Pre-draft, bro...pre-draft.

Gallinari had never missed a game due to a back issue prior to the game either.

Has John Wall's back hit a wall?

Who discuss anything about Gallo's back concerns pre-draft other than Walsh calling it growing pains? Please post links.

Don't understand... As far as I know nothing was said about his back until the SL game, and then folks started wondering about whether or not there had been a pre-existing condition.

Got to get back to the game.

He and I have had some arguments before...perhaps some had to do with Gallinari's back.

Perhaps we are having flashbacks, or something.

It's not an argument. I don't see why we are even going here about John Wall saying his back was tight to a "see why don't they say the same thing about him like they did Gallo thread." No one ever mentioned his back pre-draft. Gallo's back post all came after the 2nd half of the first game of the 2008 SL and throughout the year. His inexperience, non-athletic and stiff body and speed were concerns and his position in the NBA. Walsh made the back an issue calling it growing pains. Didn't see anything prior to that but some press people claim there were concerns out there.

Kiki said after the draft that he knew about Gallo's back issue. Thorn said prior to the draft that everyone knew the Knicks were drafting Gallo. Gallo seems to be working out but a lot of risks were taken to bring in Mike's buddy's son.

I thought that only his legs were stiff... at least that is what I was led to believe by BBJones.

Thank goodness he is more flexible, now... almost a little rubbery. High temperature yoga, I think.
