I hate when Chaney has the team playing a Zone Defense. We always get killed! Last night was no exception. I think that is one of the times the Mav's went on a 6 to 10 point run. He has no recgonition. He sees that it doesn't work but he still uses it???? They are not the sort of team than can defend that way.

Here's a quote from Marbury in today's Post:

We have to play like that from the beginning," said Marbury, who played 52 minutes and dished out 14 assists. "You play in a zone [it] kind of makes you passive. We're showing we're a better man-to-man team."

In the man, the Knicks held Dallas scoreless for five minutes of the fourth and 14 points for the quarter, even with such mismatches as Marbury paired against 7-footer Dirk Nowitzki (31 points).


And then the play at the end just sealed it for me. How do you not communicate with Houston not to foul immediately. That's just plain stupid. Chaney was standing right by the play??? Even the garden noticed and tried to get Houston to foul before Chaney. I think Chaney is a nice guy, but he is no where near a good coach. He has to go!!

Isn't it pretty basic to know that you DON'T play a zone for extended time against a good shooting team? If Done Chaney is just figuring this stuff out, then he really really has to be fired. Like TODAY fired.
