I know he hasn't developed a jumpshot yet but when I think of the energy Shannon brown brought the team last night and the crowd with his explosive dunks--I see Blakely as this type of energy player although I think he has more potential because he's 6-6 225. A guy who brings great defense and jaw dropping momentum building athletic ability. The sour note on MDA is he is too focused on every guy needing to be able to shoot 25 footers and really you need some guys who do different things--bring different assets to the table and this guy just looks like an exciting player. They are not even listed on mock drafts but I really like Blakley and Uzoh as second round picks and i expect them to not only make the NBA but be rotational players within a small timeframe. Maybe Im the only one but I like Samhan to--the guy has great great hands for a 6-11 265---he reminds me a lot of Brad Miller at I owa who was not drafted because he was *too slow* but ended up with nice 10 year career. Hard to find big men with his hands and touch.

I know that we worked Uzoh out, but as is usually the case, the Knicks' talent evaluators continue to keep their thoughts to themselves.

Has there been any kind of buzz about Blakely out of any tryouts he has had? His problem is that not only does he need a shot, but he has to learn to play as a wing, and defend against a different type of player than he is used to defending.

I think that he would probably try to sign on with a team other than the Knicks, one that can afford to play a SG/SF with little range on his shot. I looked at clips of him when you brought his name up for the first time. I liked the clips I saw of him, but never saw him shoot a J. He has tried out for a few teams, though, and if he is not drafted, you know that someone will sign him up for the SL. I see him as a guy who some team will "fall in like" with, and you can also see him a someone who spends some time in Europe.

Did not really know much about Samhan- from what I've read he needs to work on his strength and quickness. Seems like he lost a lot of weight. From the one or two clips I saw of him he seems very young in terms of development. Needs some hardening, IMO.

Seems like a candidate for the DL. Has size and had some good games while playing in a nice program against some good teams. Saw an interview of him, and he seems like a solid kid.

If you look at the big guys we brought in for a look, Foote, Gallon, and N'Diaye, you have to think that we might draft Foote in the 2nd because we brought him in for a second look, and that these are guys we might sign as undrafted players. I'm surprised that we have not brought Jordan in for a look. I'm not a fan of drafting Varnado with a #2, unless we buy up a batch of them.

I don't view the Knicks as a team that would like either Blakely or Samhan. While Samhan has some real nice attributes for a big guy--hands skills touch and toughness--he's not athletic enough nor does his body type match what the Knick's want to do in terms of get up and down. I kind of see Foote and Samhan as value players---I think Foote more so for this team like Uzoh. Foote has the length with good enough footspeed and athleticism [+he's a nice passer and has good fundamentals] and Uzoh has the length speed athletic ability defense from the 1[if the Knicks view him as a 1?]. I think Blakely could get drafted by the C's at 53.
