Dwyane Wade doesn't sound like a man planning to leave the Heat.

As July 1 and the beginning of free agency inches closer, Wade says he'll start off searching for the best player to join him in Miami.

"It's going to be fit with me first," said Wade, who attended Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. "I've made that very clear. Do I want to leave? Nope. Mmm-hmm. I want to be in Miami. That's where it starts."

Of course. He's not going to chicago to play in jordan's shadow and he all but said from jump that he wasnt going to NY. he's getting Amare to go to Miami.

Where did you get that quote from? If Wade said something like that this early, he clearly is already recruiting, despite what he said. How can we believe that he's not already talking to guys to see who wants to join him in Miami? This kind of thing can't be policed. You can't stop people from talking to each other in private.

This is the one big advantage that a player like Wade has. He's the star of his own team in his own city. He's got the credentials to back it up too. Everyone knows how good he is and that he won with a partner in Shaq. This is gonna be interesting to see how things develop.

He's using the fact that he CAN leave the Heat, to put pressure on them to procure the kind of players he thinks he can win with.

If the Heat do NOTHING and he believes that he will be playing in the same lineup next season, do people think he is just going to resign and potentially finish his career on a mediocre team? I'm not sure he will sign a 6 yr. contract if he believes Beasley will be a teammate and Bosh, Johnson, etc., will still be opponents.

The same goes for Wade as goes for James- if he has so much love for their present franchise- why has he not signed already. They will get the best contract from the team they are with now...so why the suspense?

It is all power and ego from these guys, and their power comes from the simple fact that they are FAs and their teams are desperate for them to stay.

Just wait for the finals to end and players will start chirping about where they want to go and if they want to stay. Stern's has put it out there that the finals are not to be upstaged. Why do you think LeBron didn't show with Melo for the finals because that would have upstaged the finals maybe not in LA or Boston but in Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, NJ and New York it would have definitely upstage the finals. As soon as the finals ends you are going to have FA talking about possible destinations. Lets face it they are just as eager to getting on with their lives and sign a the contract ASAP can't risk anything happening while without a contract.

Wade staying in Miami is the worse kept secret in the league. He loves it in Miami, and his total goal is to get Bosh, Amare, or some other big man to go play with him. There is practically no chance he leaves the Heat.
