Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has spent some time talking to fellow free agents about the future, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Saturday.

Wade, who made an appearance at a charity event in Plantation, Fla., said he talked with Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh and Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson in Los Angeles this week.

Wade told the newspaper he had dinner with Bosh and saw Johnson at a Brand Jordan event.

Wade has made it clear he would like to return to Miami and bring another big-name free agent with him. But he insisted to the newspaper: "I haven't started recruiting yet."

"My friends are the guys that are in the league," Wade told the Sun-Sentinel. "Some of my closest friends in the NBA happen to be certain guys that are up in this free-agent market. Yeah, it's going to be like that. Like I said, I don't worry about it. I smile and I keep on going with my day.

"Me and Chris have been friends since we came into the NBA. We signed with the same agent. So we can't eat together? It's all good. We understand what's going to come about from anything that goes on. But, no worries, it's just friends eating dinner."

The free agency period begins July 1. Wade, Bosh, Johnson, LeBron James and Amare Stoudemire are among players who could be changing teams.

It's not cheating... it's recruting.

Now what if Gallo just "had dinner" with Lebron? I think Stern would have issues with that. This is crazy. Stern knows that players hang out and talk. This pretense that no one is allowed to talk to another teams FA is silly. There's no way to police it. Heck Wade isn't even scared to openly talk about it.

Depends on what they were having for Dinner. Was it Steroids or HGH?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Yeah, Wade is recruiting. I always thought that the Heat were going to be our biggest competition because Miami is a nice city and, with Wade, they have a fairly solid team to grow with. Their probably however is that Beasley's value has dropped, making it hard to do a sign and trade. I think Toronto's really interested in Lee, so we probably could easily do a sign and trade of Lee for Bosh. The only probably with that scenario is that Lee probably would rather sign with the Nets and stay in the New York-area, so we would have to convince him to take the deal with Toronto.

Last night I saw Wade, Nets owner and Avery Johnson in the same building. I know that got to be cheating.

Yeah down here in the deep south they use Plantation as a name for sub divisions where people live all the time. We have a ton of gated communities here. Mild Pond Plantation, Southland Plantation ... I was like, what the? I'm used to it now. Just like seeing all the Confederete flags down here. You're constantly reminded of just where you are.

Thing is there isn't as much segregation here in terms of housing. People of different races live in the same neighborhoods. It's more of an economic segregation here. African Amer. are doing very well in terms of business down here as are Hispanics. The few racist idiots here keep to themselves and you know who they are.

THe heat and the marlins are such irrelevant franchises. Fans there have zero passion for those teams even though they have been largely successful. All they care about is football in florida.

Live in south beach during the summer. Play somewhere where the fans actually give a shyt.

I remember during the knick/heat battles, 40% of the fans were knick fans
