We've long been chronicling Michael Beasley's status with the Heat since their season ended.

It's been surmised the team is looking to trade him in an effort to perhaps generate a little more cap space for roster flexibility this summer.

After two years of inconsistent play, they no longer appear to have their former No. 2 pick in their future plans.

And have they already offered him to another team, and been rejected? ESPN's Ryen Russillo reported on the NBA Today podcast that a deal of Keyon Dooling for Beasley was rejected by the Nets.

If this is true, it certainly lends more support to the reports that Beasley's time is Miami could be up soon -- perhaps as quickly as draft night later here in June.

Here's the transcription of Russillo's comments, along with previous commentary from ESPN's Chris Sheridan about some possible new homes -- including the aforementioned Nets.

Wow... just wow......

Wow is right. If there was anyone left on the roster to trade I would want the Knicks to go for Beasley. I still think Beasley will be a very good player.

Bull****. I dont believe it for 1 second.

You seriously think Miami cant GIVE Beasley away. Call up David Kahn or Chris Wallace and I guarantee Beasley will be on the next flight to Minnesota/Memphis.

I just read on realgm that it was for Dooling and the third pick in the draft but I haven't been able to find the insider article posted yet so I don't know if it is accurate. It is an entirely different trade if the 3 pick is involved.

I read this on the Knick forum not in an article or on their wire tap.

Im pretty sure Miami wants Demarcus Cousins to play Center for them. Sadly Minny and Jersey arent giving up their picks because NJ doesnt need a SF and Minny has Love and Jefferson already.

i'd rather have $5M in cap room than michael beasely's useless salary on the books. you guys complain about david lee's defense and then lust after beasely? unreal. guy is a joke.
