This wont happen because of Zekes love of PGs but a trade of FWill for Quintal Woods would give the knicks better balance and works for both teams.

Gives the knicks a fast long young SF reduces the potential pgs to 3 and increases the potential sf to 3 better balance. It also gives portland better balance.

Its not the Sf's that would kill this trade its Fwill. He is good. I dont want to trade him. I just hope Chaney decides to play him and Deke instead of Moochie!

no way.. we finally have a great mix perimeter wise. The odd man out is Shandon. Frank will stay and play in a Bobby Jackson type role. Just because we have 2 good PGs doesnt mean we need to trade one. Frank can play 8 minutes at PG when Steph is out, and Steph and Frank can play together as well and really create some nice offense and playmaking. Both are scoring type PGs. Now you have Penny, who finally gives you a GREAT backup to Houston, but can also play the 1,2 or 3 himself.

As far as I am concerned the only thing this group needs is a dunker. Not a great offensive player, just a tall guy that can stuff it when Steph and Frank break down the D. Chris Anderson to me is the perfect guy to go after in the offseason. He's a 6-10 GREAT athlete. Kind of a poor mans Camby. Tons of blocks, good rebounder and can really dunk. No jumper or offensive moves, but we are just talking role player here.

Oh really fishmike, I thought I heard that idea somewhere here before.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

My biggest problem here is Chaney. Everyone knows Fwill is good but Chaney always wanted to play Eisley and Ward over him! He is extremely overmatched. We have to get rid of him. Atleast he has said that Fwill plays over Moochie.

Absolutley...someone who can capitalize on Stephs drives and dishes around the basket. Deke is just too slow around the hoop to finish. He usually ends up getting fouled (which is ok) but it would be nice to increase our effectivness with someone who gets off the groud quicker.

Sage. I would love to get Qyntel on this team. I've seen him play and he's very athletic, good ball handler,.. the only question is his work ethic.

you can sign a guy like Woods with the MLE... no need to trade for him. Plus I would rather see Penny play at the 3 than Woods. We also have KVH there. When KVH has a bigtime pg to create for him he's great at the SF. So long as he doesnt have to create for himself or handle the ball he's a real asset there.

I'm glad you remember my Cris Anderson proposal. Keep him on the radar, he would be a PERFECT fit for this group.

i threw out woods because of his position, type of player who fits with Stephon (the main cog) and upside. I like Williams, who has shown some really good things but whose best position will have the minutes takens up by Stephon.

Penny can play SF but would take more of a beating than at the 1 or 2 and Shandon is inconsistent no matter where he plays. Moochie is servicable at the 1.

True... Very true. We definitely need less layups and more dunks. I get so tired of not seeing anyone throw it down anymore. Shanderson used to do it last season but almost seems scared to now.

We need more players with that slasher-type versaltility.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

If a trade involving Van Horn, Anderson, and Doleac to
Portland for Rasheed and Ruben Patterson doesn't go down then I'm just as content keeping what we have and sliding Van Horn to the 4, Kurt to the 5, and Penny to the 3 when we want to run.
Sign Leon Smith and let's go, but looks like we may need a new coach.

By the way I would not budge from that Portland offer I made above. There is a chance that Portland could get nothing for Rasheed if they wait it out and they want to get rid of Patterson considering the fight he got into with star player Zach Randolph, last year.

Portland is a low post team which makes Van Horn and Doleac good fits. Let's remember Layden brought in Van Horn and Doleac because he thought the KNicks were gonna be a low post team with McDyess.
Now with Isiah the Knicks are going to be more of an open court team, which compliments Wallace and Patterson.

Patterson could be the slasher your looking for HARDCOREKNICKSFAN.

Very true, TLover, You make a good case for that deal to happen. I like the way it sounds. You could be right about Ruben being that slasher-type player we need, too- it could end up being a nice fit.

If Portland would do that deal, I'd take it in a second.

hey I do'nt know about you guys but I like KVH.
He has been our most consistant player in the last 15 games.

Sheed is great, but it seems like he wants to be a 2 guard (he shoots so many 3's now) I don't wanna give up KVH for him. And I hate RP, although he could be the athletic dunker-type guy we need.

Don't get me wrong Sheed is the man and could be the man for us, but i just think it is a gamble.

But a guy like Sheed would have helped out against Dirk and the Mavs, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
But I have no problem with Van Horn, especially when we move him to the 4 in certain situations.

If we can make the trade that I proposed before, then we make it;
If not then I'm okay with Van Horn. I just feel this is a trade that can benefit both teams.

By the way if Portland demands Frank Williams in the trade then they have to include either Quintel Woods, Travis Outlaw, or a first round pick.
