Nate saved the day for Boston tonight. Knocking down 2 3 pointers within 90 seconds. He was the spark that got Boston going. Betcha Boston signs him with a contract next season. I'm happy for him and he is doing everything right. Doc rivers know how to deal with these young and old players. Nate will get his ring and we will be still praying for a LeBron sighting.

Nate is an incredibly talented, passionate player. Unfortunately he had the misfortune of playing for a coach who requires players to display a mature, professional demeanor on and off the court without communicating expectations, providing a structure, culture or teaching the desired behavior. Nate became a guy labeled uncoachable by a guy that doesn't communicate his expectations or teach.
If your job is to communicate, get guys to work together for a common goal, is it fair to expect a 25 year old with talent to not need guidance, knowledge, and discipline provided from an authority figure? If you say no then you think LBJ should be allowed to pick his coach and that it will work in my opinion.

So with your reasoning, the same can be applied to Doc Rivers. And the same will be applied to every other coach Nate has for the rest of his career because Nate is an immature out of control player who has been in the league for 5 seasons and still plays and acts the same way.

Before all the D'Antoni drones come in to dismiss the issue take it up with Stan Van Gundy who went out of his way to say that Robinson was the guy who beat them in Game 6. Carry on with the propaganda defense.

Nate is an out of control punk and nothing more. Sometimes the shots fall. When they don't he's a useless mess that is a detriment to the team. 4-10FG isn't life saving anyways. That's just Crawful.

Jeez...what is it with falling in love with bum ass players who happen to show flash once every 10 games? I don't get it.

I think you need to look at each situation and assess it. Doc had a veteran team with three hall of famers and another guy, Rondo, who appears destined for the hall of fame. There has been no one with that kind of talent on the Knicks the entire time Nate played there. Nate was a midseason acquisition who was brought in to be a spark on a veteran team that had had significant success. Integrating him took some time but Doc always knew what he had and had faith. Doc has tremendous character and nothing I have seen from D'Antoni indicates to me that he is in the same league as Doc as a man or as person.

Here is a question for you. How come Phil Jackson could integrate a talent/headcase like Rodman onto his team. How come JVG could integrate Latrell Spreewell onto a veteran team and win the eastern conference? I don't think Nate has any of the issues these guys have and his talent might not be on the same level but he can help a team win and he was disposed of this year by a coach who is so rigid that he couldn't adjust and integrate a talented player that might need coaching, guidance and structure.

Nate is fine off the bench as a spark plug, but he's not a player to build with and so we moved him. It really was sad to see him go, mainly cuz we had hopes he would develope here. I just think it was clear he was never gonna be what we needed. I look forward to having great players that are MEN and act Professionally on and off the court. I want to win. Nate is more tolerable when your team has All Stars up n down the roster. We didn't and thus had to rely on him to be part of the solution and he couldn't do it. Don't lay this on MDA. Every coach including Doc had the same issue with Nate so...

Nix you are right about Nate having a history of immaturity and needing coaching. He also has talent and can help a team and other coaches have found away to integrate him into the team. I think in NY at least D'Antoni has shown a history of disposing of any guys that need guidance and coaching.

You sound like such a blue hair with your evaluations of players. Look at the most significant guys in the finals that are winning. They are in their thirties except for Rondo. If you are expecting guys to be totally evolved as players when they are 25 or in their rookie year you are almost always going to be disappointed. Those guys need coaching, guidance, leadership, structure, clear communicated expectations. I don't think D'Antoni is providing that.

It was great to see Nate take over that 2nd quarter on defense and offense.

Happy for Nate, but he is the type of player who can do what he did last night and then give you 3 games in a row of 2/7 with terrible shot selection, 3 turnovers, and poor D...

Funny though- Rivers said that Nate would have his moment, and he did, and it could not have come at a more opportune time.

A moment under a national spotlight for little Nate... he played some good ball last night- he deserves some good press.

Papabear don't say:

where was nate during his DNP's and minutes the first 5 games?

Cleveland series?

Anyone see his halftime interview?, he said God talked to him.

God took time out from all those in need, a planet poisened by an oil spill, Suffering from earthquakes, famine, flooding and disease to talk to nate. The man is special.

Special Nate.

Does this mean the deity is a Celtics fan, or is Red Auerbach actually god??

I was not in the room when he said it, but I thought I did hear him say something about a supreme being.

Now he/she can get back to dealing with that oil gusher and save some wildlife, I guess.

Keep your religious or non religious beliefs off the board if you're gonna talk like this. That's actually insulting.

I thought it was an odd comment as well. I'm of the belief that my God is omnipotent. Meaning he still able to deal with other problems while listening to my meager prays.

The special Nate comments are also actually tasteless for that matter, but he says it all the time, I don't even think he knows what it means to be "Special."

Nixluva, you've been saying that for years about this team. Nate sold tickets, especially for the young kids.He also have talent. Look the league and the player association know what we did to Nate. We are so quick to through someone under the bus. Nate played just as good as any player we had on this team. The kid had the wrong quidence. D'Antoni was the wrong coach for this team and the wrong coach for LeBron. I'm happy for Nate. How come Doc Rivers speaks so prodly of Nate? And how come the Lakers wanted him? It seems to me only winners wanted him because they saw the talent in him. Whereas we couldn't see talent if it hit us up side the head, Then we wouldn't know what to do wit the talent once we got it.

So What!!! Whats the big deal. Players say things that will make sense to them. Look the kid is only 5feet 9 and holding his own in a big mans game. I watch him play in the series and he is playing good B ball. I hope he gets his ring.As a matter of fact I thought that I would never say this but I am rooting for Boston to win the championship. And with Doc Rivers and Ray Allen, Nate, Rondo, and Paul Pierce and the rest of the stars I'm starting to like Boston. I do not hate them anymore.
