Shit just got real! These type of declarations are generally precursors to war. There is little else the North can do. They are a failed state. They have no economy and most of their people are always starving. They have a massive army so they might as well try to invade and sign a treaty and get some trade going.

The South is doing ***** footing around with the North. I think there is a war coming, and its coming soon!

Yea I think they are about to goto war. If things get really out of control I wonder what China's response will be... but the US has a base in South Korea if I'm not mistaken if so it's time to start relocating.

just what do you expect South Korea to do? attack the North & risk the entire Asian economy being torn to shreds, or even worse a nuclear response on South Korea & Japan by the North? they are responding in the only way they possibly can, with economic sanctions against the North & ceasing trade... before this attack South Korea was 1 of the main trading partners with North Korea... they have since ceased trade & blocked any North Korean trade ships from South Korean waters... there is little else they can do without inciting a revival of the Korean War... my fear is they are headed in that direction already because the North is desperate, but the South Koreans do not want to be the ones to start it again.

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea's most powerful state organ said Friday that South Korea faked the sinking of one of its own warships and warned that the Korean peninsula was edging ever closer to war.

Pyongyang has made similar statements through state media since a multinational probe said last week that a torpedo fired by a North Korean submarine downed the vessel, killing 46 sailors in the worst attack on the South Korean military since the Korean War.

This time, though, the comments were delivered at an extremely rare press conference in the North Korean capital presided over by a uniformed official with the secretive country's National Defense Commission, which is headed by leader Kim Jong Il.

North Korea has denied any responsibility and warned that retaliation or punishment for the sinking would mean armed conflict. So far, it has issued various threats, including one to cut off South Korean access to a joint industrial zone in the North and wage "all-out war."
