Anyone buy the new STP album? Thoughts?

I have always been a big fan - Core, Purple, Tiny Music (probably my favorite), 4 - were all fantastic albums. Shangra La Di Da was good too - but has more weak points than past albums.

I have been listening to the new album this morning and I will wait to judge it until I have listened to it a few more times but it is pretty different than their usual stuff. More like a Weiland solo project than a full on STP album. Don't get me wrong, I love it when they rock and I love it when they experiment but this seems to be a departure to a more soft pop kind of sound.

love the new album.. take a load off is already an all-time favorite stp track for me.

you're right, this album isn't stp circa 1994, it's alot more toned down and sounds alot like the last album they put out shangri-la-deda but it's a very good album.. awesome summer music.

I am on my second listen and I am digging it - Tiny music is still my favorite but this is pretty good stuff. They definitely still have it.
