Ironic that days after the Knicks defended their decision not to announce Chandler had broken his nose in January, the Suns gave a very detailed diagnosis on Steve Nash's broken schnozz. Knicks claimed they didn't announce it because he didn't miss a game. Neither will Nash ... In an alternate universe, after Jeff Van Gundy quit during the 2001-2002 season, his assistant Tom Thibodeau was promoted as Knicks head coach and tomorrow tonight, the Knicks are one win away from their fifth Finals appearance under Thibodeau. Thibodeau is the defensive guru who learned under the wing of the underappreciated Bill Musselman, who annually outcoached Phil Jackson in the CBA. Early good-luck wishes to Thibodeau if he accepts New Orleans, joining another good man in Jeff Bower ... I love Jeff VG's broadcasting work, but it's tough to accept his commentary as truly honest when he calls his brother's games. Sorry … Memo to Forbes Magazine for its erroneous story that a big incentive for James signing with the Knicks is he could eventually buy MSG stock: Stop trying so hard. LeBron's not a pig. He's trying to win a series of NBA championships. The rest takes care of itself

I thought the same thing about JVG...

I dont hear any bias at all. If anything, he probably goes harder at his brother because of their competitive nature.

Van Gundy has been ripping the magic's effort consistently. Berman just trying to stir up shyt. Not everybody is biased and harbors agendas like his bytch ass does.

He's projecting.

and yet we don't hear one thing from Berm about any particular bias that JVG has shown. Care to add any of you own?

Berman has perfected turning an unfounded, cheap statement with no support into a truth. We need higher standards once we get a real team in the garden.

When Hahn was a free read I never read Berman because his stuff was so bad. There aren't that many options now so I read his column but you have to filter his b.s.

I' ll call it out during the next telcast...I like the breen, mark and JVG tandem over all, but he has been bias towards his brother

I don't understand why anyone would care - you either like Jeff as an analyst, or you don't like him.

That he may be rooting for his brother- sorry, its natural, unless they hate each other, and that would be worse.

I'm pulling for Orlando too, and appreciate how the Van Gundy's have really made a name for themselves, not always under the best circumstances (e.g., Stan getting pushed out so Riley could cherry pick a title).

And who here is rooting for the Celtics that they care if Jeff is pulling for Orlando? Lets Man Up on that one!

I hope the Magic can be the first NBA team down 3-0 to make a come back and win- what a great story that would be.

And if Jeff were gushing brotherly love during the telecasts, so much the better.

i have never once thought that jvg was going easy on his brother, in fact, i always thought he was very fair in his analysis.
