How about trading for Al Jefferson to be our Center. That's if the Wolves decide to draft Cousins in the draft. This guy was coming back from ACL surgery last season and should be 100% by next season. Although I am concerned when I hear knee surgery (McDyess) and that this guy had mensicus & ankle surgery (right leg - same as ACL in his 1st or 2nd year) this guy is a vacumn on the boards, blocks shots and can score 20 a night.

He & Love didn't work well togther and I have been reading the Wolves would look to trade him. He's owed 12, 13, 14, 15 million for the next 4 years. Eddy Curry (expiring) and Chandler should get it done. Chandler's arrest is a wash bc Jefferson was arrested for an alledged DUI which he's about to take a plea on.
I like Chandler but if the Knicks sign Lebron they would have too many players at the same position. Center is a position of need for the Knicks.

With this trade and with the hope of signing 2 top free agents, the Knicks would have a squad!

Eddy Curry AND Wilson Chandler? No way. Curry's expiring should be enough for Al Jefferson. I'm still not sure I would even make that trade.

this type of trade ONLY goes down after 1 or 2 max free agents are in place. That's it.

I agree with Martin, this type of deal only goes down if the superstars are in place.

With that said the lineup the Knicks would field would be absolutely be sick.

Jefferson plays like Zach Randolph. Jefferson is a PF. Now I think A front court of Jefferson and Gallinari could excel but the defense would be lacking.

The problem is Al Jefferson is on a reasonable deal and is a 20/10 guy when he is healthy so we aren't going to get him for an expiring and Chandler when Minny has multiple 1st rounders to draft a Chandler type player. They could easily take Wesley Johnson 4th if they don't move up.

I seem to remember reading the Minnesota board earlier this season and, if memory serves he was described over and over as a black hole who didn't pass.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I think Jefferson would be a beast in the east going against his old team (Celtics) and is one year younger than Lebron & Bosh. But yes I agree, the two max guys need to be in place first.

I'm not all for trading Chandler but if we hopefully get Lebron, with Gallo, and with the possible continued emergence of Bill Walker, Chandler could be moved for a position of need. Jefferson would at the very least replace Lee's rebounding and has the size to play Center (which he played with the Wolves) This dude set a record in a game this past season with 23 rebounds.

Another option could be trading Chandler straight up for a mid lottery pick and draft Greg Monroe, who with his passing skills and developing perimeter game is an ideal Center for Mike D'Antoni.

I assume that if we were to somehow land the "Biggest Max," he would have to give some kind of "OK" for a deal like this to go through.

Just a thought.
