.... why chicago is a better destination for lebron than new york? people mentioned that they have a tailor made team for a championship and they need lebron as the final piece. they mentioned derrick rose as a superstar. i think that is a little of a stretch. he is a great player but he is not on "superstar" level yet. he can penetrate at will, get any shot for himself and a decent defender. but he is not a great outside shooter and for him to be effective he needs the ball all the time, like lebron. i think a perfect compliment for lebron is a frontcourt player ( bosh) or a distributing point guard who can shoot ( nash), not a stictly penetrating guard. the next player they mentioned is joakim noah as a great player. are you kidding me? he had a great playoffs and his numbers have gone up but he has no post game and no shot. strictly garbage player in the same vein as tyrone hill. luol deng had a great season.... in 2006 and ever since then he has inconsistent. Not to mention he is injury prone. hinrich as your shooting guard? please. i dont see this making basketball sense except they play great defense which is the only reason they can stay in games and win some. true the knicks dont have a great roster too but if you tell lebron, hey, you can choose your own "pippen" from the greatest free agency class in history, what is he going to say? chicago is not ready yet and they will take just as long to win as new york. we can also use the mid level exception on very good players to bolster the roster. also the whole notion that lebron can pick his own coach is not that enticing either. what choices does he have? jvg? i love him to death but when it comes to offense creativity, he is on the lower tier. avery johnson? the same person who at the end of his run had a player mutiny on his hands? let me put it to you this way, if we did not get d'antoni and he was a free agent coach, would he or would he not be the hottest coaching name on the market right now? so to me, chicago is not a viable option compared to new york. unless someone can tell me different.

i didn't read your whole thing. sorry. but i can say this much: chicago is not the best destination for lebron. the media are a bunch of idiots. the experts routinely get **** wrong. the experts see him as the next jordan. his skillset makes him more the next magic. so why would a PG in a beast's body wanna team up with a ball-dominant drive and dish passer who can't shoot and needs the ball to be effective? why would he want to join a team that has no shooters? he wouldn't. this might be my NY bias speaking, but the knicks are a way better fit for lebron basketball-wise. we have shooters, ball movers, no ball hogs, and a coach that knows how to make the most of an elite ball-handler / distributor (which the media seems to forget lebron is). fun times ahead.

Its either rumors or people just talking. Chic isn't even close to NYC. Chic had their time with greatness when Michael was here. Now it's New york's time.

Why would Lebron go to Chic since mgmt is not known to being loyal to their past coaches?

No place has the media frenzy like NY.

I think it comes down to Media looking at each teams available talent only. They aren't really looking at FIT. Chicago does have some good talent that at least made it to the playoffs, although just barely. I think that teams young players gave everything they had in the playoffs and that's admirable. I think that Media are assuming that Rose is gonna continue to improve into a player much like Wade. It's possible, but as for the rest of the roster, those guys are all overrated. Noah is a very tough and high energy guy that i'd love to have. Deng and Hinrich have been there a while and I just don't see them being much of a big deal. Neither guy was able to do much to push the team into the next level since they've been there.

A young team like OKC has a great group of young players and would be ready to win big with the addition of a Player like Lebron. They could still use more outside shooting overall, but that team would be a serious threat and have proven their worth winning out West, much more than Chicago.

Chicago has a much better roster than the Knicks. People are quick to mention Rose and Noah when Chicago is talked about. Deng, Hinrich, and Gibson are very good as well. Chicago also has guys under contract and draft picks that could be used in a sign and trade. There also isn't a coach in place.

I totally agree with you. Chicago is only a great destination because they made the playoffs nothing more than that. If the Knicks had made the playoffs then they would have been the favorite. What other don't take in to consideration is that the Knicks were planning LeBron's arrival. Bulls are not planning his arrival. The reasons for the Knicks for not making the playoffs were more the result of creating cap room rather than pushing for the playoffs. A team full of mercenaries is what the Knicks were., one year Rentals at best. Even with that said the players that are left on the Knicks are more geared to cater to LeBron. Douglass is the classic point guard if there is a LeBron type player on the team. He is fast defensive minded and can flat out shoot. He compliments LeBron to a tee a Paxson , BJ Armstrong, Kerr type of player that can spread the floor with his shooting. Gallo another player that can shoot the ball and creat shots for him self and others a lot like Kukoc type of player. Chandler is a also a great player that is coming into his own he plays injured and he has increase his shooting proficiency to 48% from the sg spot he has gotten better with his mid range game and he is a defense fist player, I don't want to place to much on Chandler and call him a Pippen type player but if anyone recalls Pippen's early years he was well Chandler like. The Knicks will most Like likely add Bosh to the mix and that right there give the Knicks a great edge over Chicago.

Every time I see Rose I see Marbury and he was a better player than Rose. Why would LeBron want to play with Noah he is just another Verajao. I don't see the advantage of LeBron going to the Bulls.

Chicago has a statue of jordan sitting outside the arena, Labron has already decided to change his number out of respect for MJ. I highly doubt that Bron is going to build a legacy in a place that is consider (and always will be )JORDANS HOME.

The franchise has 6 titles all won with jordan, there only 2 hall of famers to play for that franchise, and when they had all the cap money in the NBA after they broke the last of a champion roster up, NO one even looked in that direction, There's been a ton of Big name FA that have come since MJ left the bulls and there yet to aquire any.

Just like MDA chose NY over chicago, my gut tells me it's going to be the same with Bron

Who cares about chicago's roster. Whoopy doo! Lebron is coming to NY. If he brings 2 titles to ny, he'll be just as famous as Jordan/Tiger as a global icon, more popular than Jeter. He'll be considered Immortal!

Also tiger to me is done, especially since his wife is finishing teh final touch of divorce. Nike needs someone to represent them. Lebron is in a perfect spot coming to ny..

you do have a point with the tiger argument. look, the fact that people said lebron is already a world ico and cant be bigger is bull@#$%. his jersey sales hasnt been number one in years if it ever has. that tells you that his popularity can improve. let alone that i talked to non sports fans about lebron and they have no idea about what team he is on. will that happen if he came to ny? i am tired of hater like broussard and such downing ny as an awful basketball city. we suffered for 40 years. it is time we had a little payback.

I am pretty sure there was a guy who spent his career in Chicago, had the number one sale in jerseys, and was a global icon. I don't think LeBron is factoring in his icon status and an increase in jersey sales when he considers geographic locations to play. If you take out the roster, the assets for making moves and building a team, the potential to have his own coach, and just judge a team by its geographic location then I agree the Knicks have the upper hand on the Bulls.

Because Lebron James said their roster is very good a number of times during the last season and in the playoffs. He was pitching sweet woo to Rose and Noah in the post conferences. Not really that hard to understand unless you refuse to. I'm still waiting for someone to find where he does the same for the Knicks roster then I can understand the confusion. The better question is why does Lebron believe the Bulls roster is so good.

Obviously he think the NYK roster is good after all he wants to practice with Eddy Curry.

Yeah in Chicago. I guess he wants to get the lowdown on MDA to confirm his decision while he doesn't have to go far to make that introductory press conference.

I think it has a lot more to do with the fact that they have the same agent than anything else. Hopefully Curry doesn't reveal anything about D'Antoni. Also, Curry works out in Chicago and is a Chicago native.
