here's a rock album and a rap album. both are among my favorites from the past decade.
mclusky - the difference between me and you is i'm not on fire (2004) el-p - fantastic damage (2002) also, speaking of mixing up genres, girl talk does a great job of mashing up songs from everywhere - he's basically like a dj on speed. takes a minute to get used to, but if it clicks for you, it's really good. great workout music for sure: girl talk - night ripper: also, one more, M.I.A. - kala: ¿ △ ?

Late 80's -early 2000's. Theres some decent stuff here and there but not much. That new Nas/Damian Marley cd is nice. Its different but its pure music. |

I listen to the Arctic Monkeys - not sure if thats your thing but they are pretty talented. If you love classic rock then the British music scene is where it's at.
As far as rap goes - the commercialization of it totally ruined it. I really miss the good old days of East Coast vs. West Coast. Nobody realized how good we had it. I know there is probably some great underground stuff but I haven't been exposed to it. "If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just SUCK." Kenny Powers
