Since Washington is taking Wall Arenas is no longer needed or desirable to have.

Im thinking we could totally get a lopsided deal if we take Arenas back.

Curry for Arenas, McGee, Young, AND future protected picks.

Arenas has 4 yrs left but he could play in the backcourt with Douglas for sure.

McGee
Gallo
Rudy Gay
Arenas
Douglas

That team should make the playoffs in the East. If you swap Gay for Lebron then you got a contender in the East.

EDIT: Martin or Andrew can you add an "s" to the end of "need". Thx

can't Washington still void Arenas' deal anyway?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Who the fudge wants Arenas?

McGrady... Arenas... he likes those primadonna players who are past their primes
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

i wouldn't be opposed to Curry for Arenas if he's taken to be the third wheel. I would have a hard time saying no to a lineup of LBJ, Bosh, and Arenas. I don't think Arenas is a bad guy, he's just retarded. If there are two guys that are clearly better than him I think he'd be a huge asset. Not to mention he's okay with taking a big shot.

So I'm okay with taken Arenas if the situation is right.

near max for a 3rd wheel? no thanks. how could lbj+bosh at probably max and arenas at 18+ mill work? thats 50+ mill alone there. dont see how that would work (lets not forget the dude plays no d)... waaaay too many egos to keep inline.

Whether we want him or not, you can bet that if we strike out on the big names, Dolan will be pressuring Walsh like heck for an upgrade, and Arenas name will be one that is out there as an option.

Sprewell worked out- and yes there is a difference between situations and players.

But if we could get the Wiz to pay enough to take him off his hands, then yea, I think you have to entertain it.

I mean, look at Utah- they're benefiting from the Suns taking advantage of Isiah & Dolan with Marbury- we just have to flip the equation enough.

And like Supreme said - if its the right situation.

Donnie will have to entertain it if he can get Arenas for cheap. but hopefully we get Lebron and Bosh, and then cant afford Arenas anyway,

if you whiff on the big FAs and resign Lee how about Curry for Arena and Blatch? Blatch was pretty damn good 2nd half of the season.

Also MF surgury really takes two years. Look at KMart, McDyess, etc

Would you do that?

this idea that Washington will give us any of their young talent in an Arenas deal is hilarious.

the deal will be Arenas for ECurry. and i can see it happening, sadly.

why is it hilarious? Giving up a young player to dump an $80mm contract? Seems to me Knicks would be in position to dictate that market, not the Wizards.

if the Knicks call about Arenas, it'll be pretty obvious who the desperate party is.

the Knicks for a young bigman maybe. I would buy that.

Name the teams in the NBA that would be willing to or could take on Arena's contract. If they dont want to give up something good then they can enjoy Gilbert's $20mm a year salary while they rebuild for the next 2-3 years. No prob.

The Knicks have $38mil in cap space. I'd hardly call that "desperate". We would be doing the Wizzies a HUGE favor taking Arenas off their hands. There's no other way to look at it.

No team in the league is taking Arenas without getting some serious compensation OR dumping a totally useless player with slightly less years or salary.

Dude is going to be making Michael Redd money the next 4 years. McGee, Young, and future picks is doing them a favor. Otherwise Arenas can kill their cap for the next 4yrs while they try to rebuild.
