man when did amar'e stoudemire become a stay away from the basket jump shooter? that's what he looked like last night. rashard lewis style. hmmmm. so i guess he IS max material.

amar'e always has been and always will be a dog. the dude comes up the least when it matters most. all that defense he talked about playing this year was absolutely invisible last night too.

He punked up last night and looked just like David Lee. All he needed was a red cape and Matador outfit. He had all these excuses for years and then tried to make it sound like his coach, who included Gentry, all that time, never mentioned that he should man up and play some D. So what did Terry Porter not mention anything on D either, especially since he was brought in as a defensive minded coach.

ha that may be a bit overboard. i thought big things were in store for this guy when he destroyed tim duncan in i forget which suns-spurs series.

since he's come into the league he's gotten MUCH better as a shooter. Much like, David Lee actually.
BUT

I can understand the dog part. Lamar Odom had 19/19 in 30 minutes.
Maybe we're asking for too much for Amare to be the 1st or 2nd option on offense AND hit the boards.

but if he just is a scorer and doesn't really

- block shots
- rebound
- defend

then how is dude worth max $ and max years?

Amare and Bosh are both guys I want to stay away from, for the max. I'm telling you man, after LeBron and Wade, this Summers free agency is overrated as hell.

I guess he did average almost 9 rebounds per game in the regular season.

I think after 10 years we're all just so hungry for Tim Duncan/Kobe/KG in his prime/Shaq type of max FA that we overly poop on the pretty damn good players like Bosh and Amare.

Their only real sin is that they're NOT Tim Duncan. I mean..i guess dude is possibly the best PF of all time.

I didn't see alot of the game but I heard Amare was talking a lot before the series started. Not a good way to come out. Maybe he will back things up in game 2.

cmon you already know that any big man playing in that system better learn how to shoot jumpers, or he'll have plenty of pine time

amar'e once upon a time was a beast around the rim. he attacked and dunked like crazy. same system, but he was a different (pre-injury) player then.

But when he did the same things earlier it was because MDA coached no defense.
