Doesn't Mayer Bloomberg have A LOT more important things to do than recruit LeBron?

To be fair though, Cleveland's mayor started this with a comment (I think yesterday or day before) basically questioning why anyone would want to live in NY.

My bad, Akron's mayor.

How dare he bash New York!

disagree... Bloomberg's number one priority is keeping his constituents happy. The Cleveland mayor took a pot shot at NY, Bloomberg rebutted, and said he'd tell LeBron how awesome the city is. Not to mention, increased tax revenues.

This is all in good fun. NY has its reputation and small town folk just don't adhere to "bigger is better".

Maybe Akron is not the Superfund chemical spill rustbelt shoyt hold I imagine it to be either, but we all have our stereotypes. Lots of machine shops and factories building more machines and tool and dies thingys with thick fingered 6 generation Germans hoisting beers and slinging brats! Oh, that Columbus Ohio!!!!! Darn!

Hey, good people everywhere!

CLevelands collective self esteem is not that steady and Lebron leaving won't help.

This is just the way of things. The big cities have always drawn away the best and brightest going back to the beginning of civilization. So Cleveland isn't immune to this. Lebron will most likely have to move on if he's gonna reach his full potential. Cleveland will have to start over and hopefully he next star they draft will get a better GM and supporting cast, much like Durant in OKC.

who cares what bloomberg says. we all know being the mayor is partly a celebrity position so he's obviously going to say things like this. i'm happy he's trying to recruit him... whatever it takes.

Oh yeah? How 'bout all of these Cleveland/Ohio celebrities & figure-heads? Ya think these fools don't have more important things to do than band together to sing songs, grovel & beg like this? LMFAO...I actually thought it was pretty amusing up until the point where they trash the Knicks...Now I say F 'em all and their ugly city..They've had 8 years to build something around this guy and couldn't do it...The Knicks suck?? Oh Really? How 'bout that great "supporting" cast they put around their own star all these years? Danny Ferry completely turned that roster over like 3 or 4 times and never got it right..Look at this latest team - I mean stick a fork in Shaq, he's done. Dude acted like he just didn't care at all out there, just going through the motions. Physically Shaq just can't bring it anymore, and when that superior physicality deserted him, forget it 'cause the man was never really that skilled to begin with..Mo Williams & Jamison are as inconsistent as you can get - both were no-shows for the most part. Jamison in particular was completely invisible and WTF happened to Williams anyway? He has the decent game 1 at home then the 1st half of his life last night but does absolutely nothing to back it up in the 2nd half. Zippo..Gave them nothing in between too...This is two years in a row now that this guy Williams just fizzled in the playoffs btw... Think about that Cleveland before you start trashing NYC why don't ya..

Not to go overboard but when you really think about it, you gotta also love how collectively these morons succeeded in maybe not ruining but definitely cheapening a rather important song & it's message with this bunk -- this song was originally designed to raise spirits, awareness & hope (as well as a lot of money) for Africa years ago and then sung again recently by the next generation of musicians in support of Haiti. Yeah, nice job Cleveland. I know it's all in good fun but just throwin' it out there...I mean seriously, you wanna talk about Bloomberg (who I personally can't stand anyway but that's beside the point) -- get a load of these idiots. Talk about pathetic:
