I can't imagine what NY fans would be saying if cleveland had the cap space, and the senerio was flip flop...

Im not so sure some of us wouldn't want to trade him..just looking at LBj folding year after year in the playoffs after so much success during the regular season..He would have gotten crucified in this city.

I just remember feeling that Ewing for years didn't have the helphe needed and when you compare what many other great players had it was true. Aside from H2O most of his teammates were overachievers and not blue chip studs.

They've given Lebron passed the prime stars and a mix of 3rd tier role players.

LeBron certainly did not play to his potential in the 2nd round but that is why you always need a strong supporting cast. LeBron needed a 2nd star player that could take over for him and vice versa. Jamison is not that player and Shaq is certainly passed that point too.

The biggest missed opportunity of the season, and I also said this when the Jamison trade went down, was Cleveland not getting Amare. Had they gotten Amare, then even when LeBron has off games he is still a good enough passer to get someone like Stoudamire easy baskets. It would have been lethal.

People kept saying Danny Ferry did all that he could do to keep LeBron here in the long-term. That's bull. He simply traded expirings for guys past their prime (like the Knicks did all of last decade) instead of building a young nucleus around James that could remain intact.

"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

to me, it has nothing to do with winning or losing. it's just that i can't remember players like ewing and barkley performing like that for 3 games in a row in a playoff series. that was very very weird. i mean ewing on one leg was limping up and down the court busting ass.

some of that is based on luck and opportunity.

during one summer, they went after joe johnson, micheal redd and ray allen. all of them said no to playing with lebron. so they settled on larry hughes and had to sign him b/c lebron was demanding it. can you blame management for that?

There's no doubt in my mind that in order for bron to win a championship (especially under mike d), he will have to play the pg FULL TIME...
