apparently hollinger has an insider article on it. haven't read it but i agree with the theory.

hawks got away with all that iso stuff in the regular season b/c they play good defense, but in the playoffs, a well coached team can effectively make it tough for a team to succeed with that type of offense.

and this is a big reason why the mavs always seem to come up short despite having more talent. the iso-dirk offense is not good enough to get it done at the championship level. it's a testament to his greatness why they can advance but also a reason why they can't get over the hump.
