for Chandler and pick 38.

If we could sign Splitter and get a good player with pick 20 it would really help us build our core/rotation with quality talent.

Spurs get Chandler who Pop would love. He defends, can play 2/3/4, plays hurt, works hard, and would save the Spurs $13mm next year. More if you count the luxury tax.

I think these are the kinds of options we should look at if we swing and miss on the big FAs

why in the world would you want to fill up $15M of our capspace with RJ? to dress him up like kobe and parade around town with him? can’t you wait till sebstar comes to town to scratch that particular itch?

Then use that cap space on Carmello next year.

Not a bad Idea but you gotta think some things have to fall in place first. Like the Dude from Akron.

LOL @ 3 picks.

Jordan Hill, a player, not a pick.
a 2012 pick
a yet to be determined 2011 swap.

But, what the hey, let's just say it was 3 #1 overall picks. :)

what do you do if you cant sign Lebron, Wade, Amare or Bosh (and his broken vagina) ????

Rather than overpay and max out Joe Johnson or other 2nd tier guys use the cap space to add some young players. You add a draft pick and a Splitter who is regarded as the best bigman not in the NBA and you have over $25mm in cap space next year when Fat Eddie and RJ come off the books.

You roster has more talent on it and you go after the star again (Melo)

splitter has obviously been afraid to play in the nba and/or been told by people who know that his game won’t work here for at least 5 years. isn’t that when he first became eligible to enter? every year since the same freaking dance with this turkey. him and the #20 pick? go peruse those names. you’re giving up chandler who may well have his breakout year and is still on rookie coin? and taking on that POS rj? really poor proposal my dude. you owe me a drink for even bringing this up.

fish, this is the way to do it. i know everyone is going to be crying over spilled milk if we don't come away with the big 3, but a deal like this is what you have to do if we do strike out. RJ's contract expires after next year, so it's not a big deal and this trade would give us a solid big prospect in splitter and also the 20th pick where we can pick up another good player. the only thing im interested in is how we become a better team - i'll be just as pissed as the next guy that we strike out on those FAs, but you can't just quit, you have to do what you can to make your team better and I think this does.

there's a "preview" button that he should utilize. at the very least he should ask vdesai to walk over to his desk and read it before hitting "post new reply".

Lampe would be brilliant here as he is the best player in the world.

My point here is if we cant sign a star this is the kind of trade we should be looking to do. Use the cap space to take a costly player and get some picks or young talent back.

The first deal I mentioned (and still like) is Peja and Collison + maybe a pick for Walker. Walker had a solid finish and this trade saves them some crazy about like $20mm. Let Peja and Curry walk away and you have $25mm in cap space and now you have a PG. Dude looked great last year. 20/10 as a starter? He's no Ramon Sessions

Now you want to trade Chandler. Come on Fish this is against you belief. Why not just trade Chandler for Hassan Whiteside sign Bosh or resign Lee and make a run for LeBron. If LeBron doesn't come keep cap space and go with next year for Melo.

Line up:
Douglass g
LeBron sg
Whiteside C
Bosh pf
Gallo sf.

I hate to give up Chandler this team needs size on the front court with out size they are going the same route as an undersized team. Can't have undersized it catches up to a team quickly just look at Jazz and the way the Lakers are taking it to them do to size factor.

I dont want to trade Chandler. Not even a little. Chandler is a good player I believe in. However IF we arent getting a big star free agent this summer we need to build this roster out and Chandler has value. Chandler will also be eligible for an extension after next year. So if we are going to try to build this roster up and wait until 2011 for a max free agent then using Chandler as a key trade piece makes sense.

Chandler is way more valuable than Hasson Whiteside. Its not even close. Chandler is an NBA player who can play and guard multiple positions. He's a pro, he plays hurt, he scores, rebounds and defends. Chandler is a key rotation player on a good team. Whiteside may or may not become an NBA player. Guys build like him have never had much staying power, and dont tell me Garnett who has PG like skills as a skinny 7 footer. Anthony Randolph cant stay on the court.

I love Chandler. If I trade Chandler I want a pick AND a prospect back. I'm not trading Chandler for mid first round prospect.
