It was rumored that Morey was going to try to make this move when he fleeced Walsh. Now it is a reported rumor again. That trade sucked.

If i'm Toronto I don't know if that would be that intriguing. No one knows what Hill is just yet. Heck i'd rather take Lee for Bosh if a deal had to be made. At least he's a proven commodity and even if you don't keep Lee he's got value to trade later.

I believe it was rumored to have been an offer to Phoenix for Amare. Took too long to get the deal done with NY and Morey didnt want to waive Amare's physical.

I mentioned in another thread once Amare opts into his deal or resigns with Phoenix before the summer he can be traded.

You are right. I believe this deal was mentioned shortly after the trade also.

Morey quote right after the Hill deal.

We're not out of [the free agent sweepstakes]. In our opinion, we're actually more in it," said Morey. "For those players to just sign with a team, they have to choose to give up 30 million dollars. I haven't seen many players who do that. Now, they might, but I think most of those players are going to go in a sign-and-trade. We like the players we have, but we'll have an opportunity there."

I think the trade would be for Hill and one of the traded picks or Buddinger.

he isnt (yet or ever, we shall see), though they really havent gone anywhere with bosh. they either havent gotten him the right support, or he just isnt the type of guy to carry a team.

Nothing but rumors and speculation. Prepare for more and more of it. A day ago Bosh for Bynum was a "done deal". <---- lol at that, that's called tampering, folks, it's also called another BS rumor. STOP READING RUMORS PASSED OFF AS FACT AND REACTING TO IT.

However if the Bosh to Houston trade did happen the following is still fact:

*Hill is a terrible basketball player.
*Hill would not be the key to a Bosh trade and if he was than Toronto hasn't been paying attention to how terrible of a player Hill really is.

I do know this if it happens there will be fans claiming that Hill is a franchise center that we could have used in trade to get Bosh or LeBron or Wade. Because over reacting to something that's untrue seems to be just waiting to happen around here this summer. In fact several fans, judging by the threads on this forum recently, haven't even waited to see what happens this summer, according to them the summer is already over, we got no one, and the world has come to an end.

what sucks is that the Knicks likely could've worked out a S&T for Bosh, Calderon for Lee, Hill, and filler

....and in other news, Cleveland are exploring the possibilities of signing-and-trading LeBron James for Channing Frye, who they see as the centrepiece of the franchise for the next 10 years.

Yeah, okay then. Anyone who thinks Toronto is going to S&T Bosh for Hill is living in an alternate dimension.

Hill would be just another young asset. The picks would be more valuable to Toronto because they would be screwing us out of Bosh increasing the value of that 2011 swap and 2012 pick.

Its one thing to be a doom and gloom merchant and another thing entirely to imagine for one second that any team in the NBA would do that deal. Let me ask you this. If we still had Hill and the pick and someone on this forum proposed a trade of Chris Bosh for Jordan Hill, 2012pick and 2011 trade, how fast would you laugh in their faces and tell them how little they know about basketball.

If you want to believe the worst, then go for it. If you want to believe that noone is coming here, that Jan Vesely is better then Gallinari, that the Knicks will throw the max at Ray Allen and Robert Parish, that the Knicks will only have 4 players next year and that the Knicks will strike out on any and every thing they do, then knock yourself out. But you should stop and think how dumb it makes you look when you give credence to a deal that no GM, not even Isiah Thomas and Scott Layden together would ever EVER do.

Oh yeah, and the Raptors are going to lose their franchise All-Star center for bubkas just so they can screw us. Thats where they get their value here. I bow to your superior basketball knowledge.

Oh well, include Jeffries and that makes all the difference doesnt it? Seriously? Ariza has 4 more years left on a deal averaging over $7m per and he plays the same position as Turkoglu. So really how is this deal going down? Ive got no problems with people saying other teams will offer Toronto better deals then the Knicks. But at least come up with realistic deals.

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/15596/millers-nice-but-bosh-still-foremost-in-rockets-sights

If the Raptors and Bosh reach the expected conclusion that it’s time for an amicable divorce, Houston has amassed an enticing cache of sign-and-trade assets. One source, offering one small example, says that the Raptors are intrigued by young forward Jordan Hill, whom the Rockets extracted from the Knicks in the Tracy McGrady three-way deal in February.

As a (reasonably) big-market team -- with low-key cornerstones like Martin and Aaron Brooks, and a franchise player in Yao Ming who might not be a franchise player any more after being forced to sit out an entire season -- Houston can also offer the stage and go-to guy spotlight Bosh covets.

Yet it’s believed that the Raptors, if Bosh indeed proves willing to join the Rockets via sign-and-trade, will try to foist Hedo Turkoglu on Houston as part of the deal. Would the Rockets be willing to take on Turkoglu’s contract ($43.8 million over the next four years) and surrender, say, Trevor Ariza in return to clinch Bosh’s arrival? The cost of adding Bosh along with Turkoglu would likely be prohibitive for the Rockets, but Toronto certainly figures to try.

Since noone else has done this, heres the text. So lets see. Hill for Bosh? Uh, no. Ooooo, add a #8-11 pick! Uh, no. Swap Ariza for Turkoglu. Ok, that might be interesting for Toronto, but thats nothing more than a salary dump then for the Raptors, nothing to do with Hill, picks or anything and Im glad we're out of that game. If people want to say theyre upset we can no longer offer other teams a chance to dump their ageing crud on us that their opinions. Id rather have the capspace.
