My heart goes to Riles and thebeginning of next season but my vote goes to Doc and the beginning of next season.

Reily or Doc. Either one should work miracles. Right now, atleast appoint Brendan as the interim.
I think it happens by 5pm Friday. Before the game on Saturday.

If Riles would even consider coming back I would consider it a gift from above...don't see it happening but I think all of NY would be greatful. Who knows, Joe Gibbs went back to the Redskins so anything is possible. I wouldnt mind seeing Doc on the sidelines, but what this team needs is a winner - does Doc get that label? Does Riley still have anything left in the tank after the Heat debacle?

ZEKE will coach the team the rest of the season then DOC will take over at the next year !!!
What does DICK CHANEY & DON CHANEY have in common ?? They both accidentally fell into a job they don't deserve & really suck at doing it !!!! Both need to be fired !!!

Bad idea for a few reasons:

1) How can he focus on fixing the personell issue if he is trying to coach too?

2) How could a coach come in next season after Thomas has left his mark on the team, and is still in control of the clubs decision making process? Its not like when someone retires and moves to the front office - Zeke would be a threat.

3) Would Thomas really want to give up coaching and let someone else do it if he finishes out this season courtside?

4) The gamble. Thomas was relatively successful as a coach in Indiana - except in the playoffs. He also had the personell to do so. In NY this team is on shaky ground, and still needs some major pieces to become a quality team. Would he want to risk his reputation more then he already has?

Riley wont be a coach unless he is also the President... He needs ull control over what happenes with the Knicks, which is a reason why he left to begin with..... i would personally like to see Doc come in here, with starks as an assistant..... fughettaboutit!!!!!

It's definitely Zeke who will take over the coaching responsibilities for the rest of the season. If the Knicks are about to crumble, he rather take the fall.

Once he takes over, the players will respect and listen to him as oppose to Dum Chaney.

Imagine he spoke to George Karl a couple of days ago and fires Chaney today. Karl get appointed as new coach today and coaches his first game as knicks coach vs his former team, the Milwaukee Bucks. That would be something.. Only a thought though!!!!!

Riles owns like 5-7% of heat.

there are those whom also think Riles is not a great coach, and did not do the best job with the Knicks.

I USED to be a huge Riley fan. Over time his flaws were even more magnified in Miami than they were here.

Let malone have a shot at it. Less trama for team. They have been thru enough. Likely the team needs some tweeks, not an overhaul of the coaching system. They looked lost.

Bring in Doc...if he doesn't want to come, then Karl. or just let Malone take over.

Since I have no understanding of how and why Chaney is not currently fired, I won't try to hazard a guess as to when he will be fired. I will say however, that my predicition/choice for future head coach is George Karl.

What do you guys think about Chuck Daly? He has got to be a Thomas fav, but I would think he would need a solidified roster to make a decision. But I could go for Daly.

that would be great too. We gotta fire Chaney as soon as possible. We need to give the new guy as much time possible to get us ready for the Bucks on saturday.

i hope its doc rivers ASAP. however, it'll probably be brendon malone for the remainder of the year, and doc next year. i never liked george karl. his ego's too damn big, and one or more of his players always ends up hating him.

CHuck Daly eh? I thought he was in comfortable retirment...the man is very old now. But in the days of Gibbs/Parcells coming back, maybe Daly takes our call. He was a fantastic coach.

I was wrong about about 5pm and probably wrong about the rest of this weekend. I still think Chaney will not be our coach and will be fired sometime this weekend or early next week.
