Tough times for traditional newspapers, and I am the type of guy who worries them. I rarely buy newspapers- I can get all the news I need on the web, read what I want without having to go through the entire paper, and even resize the type if the print is too small. I also don't have to worry about recycling.
I might question the effectiveness of what Newsday is doing, but I don't get too angry that they are doing it. Newsday used to be a great NEWSpaper, now they don't even have their own foreign news bureau because of monetary restraints, and instead of being a competitor or less imposing alternative to the NY Times, they now compete with the Daily News and a rag like the NY Post.
The web has created an entirely new reality for newspapers, and you expect that new technology like the Kindle or iPad will further change the way we get our information.
The times they are a changing.
No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee
