OK, who voted for David Lee this time?

Sometimes you wonder whether some of the people who vote for postseason awards actually watch the games.

Last year, one of the NBA’s 29 non-Mike D’Antoni head coaches gave David Lee a first-place vote for the league’s all-defensive team.

That’s not out yet for this season, but the Defensive Player of the Year is.

And just to prove that members of the media aren’t any smarter than head coaches, someone gave Lee a third-place vote.

Now we like David Lee and admire all the work he’s done to turn himself from the last pick of the draft into an All-Star.

But although rebounding is an important component of defense (and he finished second in the league to Dwight Howard, who won the award), so are things like blocking shots, plus guarding your man and helping out for others.

David Lee didn’t make the All-Star team for doing that.

But we’re quite sure that the person who gave him the third-place vote wasn’t paying attention to any of that.

the grass is always greener.

Media vote for it?

Berman probably did - and to make a point about his D, or lack there of.

Sounds like a really clever (ironic) statement by one of the voters. Hopefully, David will get the message and come back next year a changed player (i.e., motivated on BOTH sides of the court). Of course, if he does, I want him here.
