Depending on the Route the Knicks choose below is the talent pool I believe that Donnie Walsh will be targeting. I think it's a given that Bill Walker's option is going to be picked up. If we buy out Curry we have another two million to play with in addition to about 3-4 million in LLE.

Veteran Free Agents

Point Guards
Earl Watson
Shaun Livingston
Steve Blake
Chris Duhon

Shooting guard
Ray Allen (Command 5 million or over)
Raja Bell

Power Forwards
Drew Gooden

Center
Brad Miller
Marcus Camby (Command 6 million or over)
Brendan Haywood (Command 7 million or over)
Earl Barron
Kurt Thomas

Depending on their health I think Kurt Thomas is serviceable for 15 minutes a night as is Earl Watson especially on the defensive end of the floor. I also like the idea or Barron and Raja Bell. I think it's realistic to imagine that 5 million can get you 3 of 4. Which would fill out the veterans portion of the roster to go with our young kids and max talent.

Who would you like to see the knicks target?

I can see Donnie Walsh going after Tim Thomas and Steven Hunter - both played for Mike D'Antoni. I like Louis Amundson and Amir Johnson too.

What’s interesting about Amir Johnson is that he seems to be the type of player who is ready to bust out. In high school Draftexpress had him as a decent prospect but one that was very frail and raw. 4 years ago he was listed at 204 lbs at 6′9. Today, he’s 210.

Six pounds in 4 years?

If a guy needs to get stronger, it doesn’t have to be just mass. Not at the expense of athleticism. But it also could mean he’s allergic to the weight room and may never reach his full potential.

I like Amir for this reason, he seems to attack the rim. Whether it be offensively or defensively, he’s active. Active in the pick and roll, but isn’t a pure shooter in the pick and pop. He also can’t really dribble.

The think he fits a need for the Knicks, but the question is, as always, for how much. The good news is per 18 minutes, Johnson gets you 5 rebounds per game, the better news is that he gets you a block as well.

But is Amir ready to bust out, or will he fail to ever reach his potential. Tough one to figure.

And you can bet not only is Walsh thinking about that, so too is Bryan Colangelo.

I would definitely go after Gooden and Miller as far as what you have listed.

Id die for Ray Allen for 5-7 million he is perfect for this system imagine if we have gallo and ray with lebron at the floor at the same time? plus he is a good veteran presence.

hell no to gooden there is a reason on why he is always traded he is a selfish player who dosent play D

another person who i d consider is kurt thomas. He can has played this system already

Two other young options are Randy Foye (2-3 million) and Kyle Lowry (4 million) maybe more if the lakers jump in.

Brendan Haywood isn't starting for the Mavs and doesn't have the impact camby does so it maybe possible to get him for 7.5 million

that would be overpaying Ray. The guy only shoots well 1 out of every 4games it seems. Kurt is a geriatric and Gooden has one of the lowest basketball IQ's in the league so, pass on him.

I'd go after after Butler and maybe Mike Miller for cheap

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Anyone who thinks Ray Allen is playing for 5-6mm is on ludes. Haywood and Allen will both get what Camby got but Haywood will get more years[and still not worth it but thats the way it is]. The teams that have them are teams that pay. There is a ton of money out there and don't discount the teams that are at the cap with the player and can go over.

I can't imagine Ray Allen looking to be apart of a rebuilding situation at this juncture in his career. If he has a good playoffs forget about getting him at 5 mil a year.

Foye has had a knee injury a wrist injury and has been very up and down. There just isn't a big market for the guy. You can get guys for nothing if you are smart. Affalo signed for 1 million this year barnes for under 2 million. His stock is way down around the league. If he gets a multi year deal at 3 million (9 million) he takes it.

The Bulls will give Ray Allen 8 million for a year. 10 Million is a lot for Haywood, but you maybe right. That's why not giving Lee a deal last year was just plain stupid.

He is a RFA and Washington can match any deal for him. Livingston is likely gone this summer anyway. You are pulling numbers out of thin air.

hell, whats the status of Mayo. I would love to pull him away from the Griz and he'd fit wonderfully in Pringles offense.

id still pay him 5 million to play here. he can keep any defense honest no matter how bad he is shooting and you need that type of players esp if we get lebron. I dont get it why we will be overpaying him he averaged 16 points on 47 percent shooting. how is that bad? plus he cn be our veteran presence in the locker room
