I still get the feeling Knicks will find some odd way of waiting and letting
Walker and Barron go despite the fact it seems MDA and Walsh likes both of
them.

Have Knicks had any info ? whether say Walker is still under a knick contract thro 2010/2011

we own a 2 year team option on Walker which is only for 854K for '10 & $916K for '11, so i think u can pretty much assume he'll be back next season.

Barron is an UFA so he will go to the highest bidder for his services most likely.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I like what Barron did for us but there's no way I'm overpaying to keep him here...I don't want to overpay for any low to mid-range type FA to be honest..

thats not overpaying him 1 million per season i believe is not bad for barron. overpaying him is around 3 million.

I'm sorry, but I don't see why so many people are in love with Barron.

I think any value/promise we saw with him on the court was a result of having a big man next to Lee, which made our team look better. However, I think we should/can go elsewhere to grab low risk high reward type players to add length to our front court.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not in favor of giving a big man that shoots less than 45% from the field more than $1 million. Before people bitch me out because he only played less than 10 games for us, keep in mind that the only season he played in the NBA with significant minutes (2007-2008 with Miami), he shot 40% from the field. I don't think his defense is good enough to make up for that either. According to 82games.com, opposing players had an efg of over 58% against him.

The only thing of value he really added for us was his rebounding, which doesn't look so special when you consider that David Lee is the only good rebounder on this team and by default, almost any big added to this roster would have decent rebounding numbers.

If we bring him back to the min as a 12th guy, I won't be too upset about that. If we lose him, also fine. Either way, point is there are better options out there than him and out of all the things we have to worry about, Earl Barron should be far down the list.

Guaranteed 2 year league min contract is the right price for Barron. If he wants a player option for the 2nd year then that would be perfect for him. Gives him an out in the 2nd year if he blows up.

That was three years ago, Im a reach out on a limb here and say that, maybe, just maybe he work on some things and got a little better in some area's. He's definitly better then a 12th man, and should be a rotational player considering todays Center's.

I'm not sure. In his audition with us, although it was short, he didn't show much efficiency on offense. And the defensive number I quoted above (the efg of 58% against him) was his number as a Knick.

At his age, I don't see him improving too much. I'm not convinced yet that he is a rotation guy on a good team (which I'm hoping we are next season).

I wouldn't mind paying Barron the league minimum to sit at the end of the bench. The guy boards well and knows his game and his limitations. But if he's a regular in our rotation next season, I won't be happy.
