I'm sorry, but I don't see why so many people are in love with Barron.
I think any value/promise we saw with him on the court was a result of having a big man next to Lee, which made our team look better. However, I think we should/can go elsewhere to grab low risk high reward type players to add length to our front court.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm not in favor of giving a big man that shoots less than 45% from the field more than $1 million. Before people bitch me out because he only played less than 10 games for us, keep in mind that the only season he played in the NBA with significant minutes (2007-2008 with Miami), he shot 40% from the field. I don't think his defense is good enough to make up for that either. According to 82games.com, opposing players had an efg of over 58% against him.
The only thing of value he really added for us was his rebounding, which doesn't look so special when you consider that David Lee is the only good rebounder on this team and by default, almost any big added to this roster would have decent rebounding numbers.
If we bring him back to the min as a 12th guy, I won't be too upset about that. If we lose him, also fine. Either way, point is there are better options out there than him and out of all the things we have to worry about, Earl Barron should be far down the list.
