wherever pitino is coaching in college is an NBA factory. it's somewhat fishy, but these guys are playing for multiple millions of dollars - it makes sense that they'd want to sign with a proven coach who opens the door to the NBA for so many players.

I was thinking the same thing. Calipari is the coach of Kentucky.

Calipari is a straight up sleeze ball and will do just about anything to get big name recruits. He should have been banned from college basketball after all the misdeeds he's done, but he just continues on to the next multi-million dollar contract.

I agree. He's not even a good coach either. Bob Huggins, or whatever the hell his name is, straight up outclassed him and he was missing his starting PG. Calimari has two players that will go probably go in the top 5 of the draft and couldnt even make it to the final four. Fail

Calipari won't get a championship taking one and done divas and pandering to them.

Until he can meld a "Team" and not just talent they will make good runs but fall short. Even the ultimate college Starphuch that was the "Fab Four" at Michegin didn't either.

Between Cweb, Jailin and Juwan they about made half a billion dollars in salary.

Can't deny success, and they are good dudes all grown up but they fell just short.

I don't think any has NBA bling either.

They can spend the rest of their days lamenting what could have been counting their money.

Calipari is a sleezeball but thats what the top players seeking NBA careers are looking for.

Duke asks for 2-3 years. Look at Jayson Williams. He got his degree in three years and has a life. Maybe he could have had more money if he left a year early but as we know money is not the root of happyness. With the degree he has more balance in his life if his hoop dream does not pan out. Hill, Battier, David Robinson, Brad Daughtery, and others are balanced pros. Maybe staying in school helps some. Many paths to success and Failure!

Im glad Jennings had another path. I think the year in Euro matured him. He had to prove himself to both the NBA and more importantly to himself. Before NBA GMs make investments they want to see the kids in other environments than just AAU or High School.

The Caliparis of the world will always be there. He gets those kids cuz he got playing time to give.

I dont understand what you mean by 'Divas"? Are Wall and Cousins divas and if so what makes you draw that conclusion? Or by divas do you mean, better?

I know what you're trying to say, that with top recruits you create a mercenary type squad rather than a team, but lets avoid painting players with a broad brush. Unless I missed something, Wall and cousins appeared to approach things the right way. Perhaps their loss to West Virgina had everything to do with Calimari being outcoached.

If you were one of these player's parents and you knew they could be a top pick in the draft, you wouldnt be talking any of that stay-in-school shyt. Even if things dont work out in the league, they could always go back. Millions richer.

Divas I mean they gotta get thier exposure and worry about performance BEFORE team. I know I sound Naive when I say it should be about "Winning" either in the pro's or in college!

ANd yes there are kids that should make a B-line for the pro's. Im not saying otherwise. Some kids are not well rounded people, just good players. THe Derrik Colemans, Eddy Curry's and Antoine Walkers all could use more sense. They got money and lost it all. Now regret looms large. Maybe there is somthing called "Too much Money"? There is a lot to life besides money and many of these players are gonna make a ton of it anyway. John Wall this year or next is gonna be just fine. Any of them can get injured. Im saying JayWil was better prepared. JasonWil is in Jail. And White Chocholate got booted from florida for weed and had to go to smaller Marshal to grow up a bit.

A tale of THree Jason-Jaysons all tell a different story. The one with the most money is the most unhappy.

Many ways besides college to get educated or at least have common sense. Just saying the quickest is not always the best.

Does anyone know if Milt Wagner is still on Calipari's staff lol I think it's a joke that he was even allowed to coach this year after the whole Memphis debacle. I can't hate on him. The "amateur" basketball system in the states is a mess.

I gotta say this tho, Calipari is smart to have Lebron James around his program. That, along with every other shady tactic he pulls will ensure that he keeps getting quality players at Kentucky until the next NCAA investigation.
