Calipari won't get a championship taking one and done divas and pandering to them.
Until he can meld a "Team" and not just talent they will make good runs but fall short. Even the ultimate college Starphuch that was the "Fab Four" at Michegin didn't either.
Between Cweb, Jailin and Juwan they about made half a billion dollars in salary.
Can't deny success, and they are good dudes all grown up but they fell just short.
I don't think any has NBA bling either.
They can spend the rest of their days lamenting what could have been counting their money.
Calipari is a sleezeball but thats what the top players seeking NBA careers are looking for.
Duke asks for 2-3 years. Look at Jayson Williams. He got his degree in three years and has a life. Maybe he could have had more money if he left a year early but as we know money is not the root of happyness. With the degree he has more balance in his life if his hoop dream does not pan out. Hill, Battier, David Robinson, Brad Daughtery, and others are balanced pros. Maybe staying in school helps some. Many paths to success and Failure!
Im glad Jennings had another path. I think the year in Euro matured him. He had to prove himself to both the NBA and more importantly to himself. Before NBA GMs make investments they want to see the kids in other environments than just AAU or High School.
The Caliparis of the world will always be there. He gets those kids cuz he got playing time to give.
