David Lee played with another big. I really noticed just how smart versatile and skilled he is--he really is. I think so much was put into David Lee plays no D or he wouldn't do those stats on another team while missing the point of just how good the guy is. I thought that we played better with another big--whether that be Jefferies or Barron---we all saw what was good and what was not so good.
We still a have great advantage with D Lee. We can offer him the 6th year deal which will put tremendous pressure on other suitors. If he ended up with 6 years 68/70 mm like fishmike opinionated--that would put another team at the mercy of paying him 15mm per to trump or 14 to match in gross- the one year which we can never guarantee. I keep hearing Cosmic saying that we need to get rid of Lee--I mean I watch a lot of basketball--how many of these FA are really better than David Lee?
I have two really good wings in Gallinari and Chandler--unless it's Lebron James why do i want to allocate money there?

Our biggest problems were at PG the fact we were overwhelmed physically in the frontcourt because we didnt play 2 bigs and inconsistent outside shooting and additional factors from the bench.

In conclusion David Lee is a versatile highly skilled tough smart reliable player we ALREADY have---I believe in addition to make the team better. I understand all bets are off with LBJ--if he comes then you work from there. If not let's keep the good and add to it. Cohesion is important.

Boozer, Bosh, Amare.... none of these guys are worth $5mil more than Lee. We need a Robin Lopez or a Joakim Noah to pair with Lee.

If you want style over substance Lee should be moved.
A lot of Knicks fans assotiate PF with defense and power.
Lee is not at best on both.

Good point Briggy. Bosh is not a bad ass either. Amare is great when focused on a contract.

Lee brings some intangables like passing skills and tip in instincts that are not always apparent.

I recall the magic play his rookie year when he tipped in a pass from midcourt in the air to win a game with about a second left.

He is not perfect, but most teams have weakness' and his is defense. We can pair him up so someone has his back and enhance his ability. David has a healthy history and brings it every nite.

And we always complaining we don't develop our own. Well, here we got one and I don't think we let him go. He is a Knick. Drafted and home grown all star. This guy on a good team can help make them great!

Same for gallo if he can put together a full season like he has the last 10 games.

Be nice to start with Lebron. And......The GROSS amount with Dlee is important. At his age he likley gets one big contract.

David Lee is not going to be a career allstar or HOF player. But a solid player that can enhance the play of others and bring a skill set not found common in this league.

Lee in match ups against marquee PF head to head, he has been outplayed time and time again...Lee reminds me of Antwan Jamison...Nice numbers to look at but doesn't translate to wins...The Knicks play the same type of ball with or without Lee...Lee put up stud numbers this year and we are at 30 wins...Add a guy like Joe Johnson and we are where 38/40 wins???....Is that acceptable??? We should spend the extra money to get a better player...

ONLY way David Lee figures in a championship contending starting 5 is if the other 4 are league leaders in defense in their individual categories. Don't look at how many points he scores without looking at how many he gives up. God knows how often we have had this same discussion here?

if lee is 2nd or lower option on off, do you still think he will be putting up 20 and 10? i think his #'s go down in that case. if that does happen, and he if isnt committed to putting some effort into def -- he isnt worth a huge $$ contract.

To think we could've locked him up for like 7mil avg a couple years ago. SMH

And we would have had ourselves a very good BENCH player at the cost of getting ourselves real starters. I am glad we didn't lock him up.

at 7mill that would have been a decent deal. now its gonna be over 10 probably easy, if they resign him.

IF you land James, resign Lee, and pick up a Camby type defender to patrol the middle, and have a starting lineup of Camby at C, Lee at PF, a stronger and more mature Gallo at SF (he will also be able to play D against PFs), James at SG, and Douglas at "PG," with Chandler filling in at the 2/3/ or 4, you have a very good defensive group surrounding Lee, who has the talent to mix well with almost any other four guys on the floor. Lee's offensive versatility is quite impressive, his shooting range will only get better, and he has become an excellent passer.

I wish that Lee would do a little upper-body work- there are times where he almost looks like a SF- but at this point he is probably not going to do the strength training he should have been doing for the last 2 years. Nevertheless, on the right team he could be the perfect "glue" player, whose all around talent makes him even more valuable on a "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" type of team.

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee

I Keep saying this, but Bosh and Camby or Barron or Tyrus or Chandler or whoever is better than Lee and one of those other guys. Just in terms of Bosh's length and range on D. I love Lee's game but we're talking about best possible roster we can put together and in that case you wouldn't want Lee above a Guy like Bosh or Amare even.

DLee with a defensive center and CP3 would be just ludicrous.

Imagine if Lee played with Nash, his numbers would be through the roof and he would be part of the top 5 FA group instead of the top 10.

I'm intrigued by pairing Lee with Barron. He still got double figure rebounds and was a focal point for ball movement. If T-Mac lived up to our expectations, we would have surely been a playoff team. Now the focus should be to secure Barron as a bench player, possibly get at starting Center and a big guard. NNo, not JJ, but maybe a younger player such as Livington from the Wizards.

Dlee needs a tatoo and a euro style buzz cut. Loose some weight and do curls all summer.
